Tacos del Barrio is a cute, reasonably priced to-go spot in FIDI, known for its super yummy and absolutely delicious food. It is a very small space with standing room only, ideal for a quick meal rather than a date, as the tacos can be messy. The staff is consistently described as kind and super nice, contributing to a great atmosphere with incredible music.
The menu features flavorful tacos on hand-made corn tortillas, ordered 'con todo' with diced onion, cilantro, salsa roja, and avocado crema. Popular choices include the Al Pastor, which is repeatedly called delicious and the king, Carne Asada, Birria (beef), Pollo (chicken), Fried Shrimp, and Fish (catfish) topped with a chipotle and cilantro crema. The Elotes side dish is also a unique standout. For a hearty option, the Carne Asada bowl and Chicken bowl receive high praise for being super tasty, with generous, huge portions of fresh and flavorful ingredients. It is a highly recommended spot for an amazing, late-night bite.
