Best taco truck in the area from someone who's tried them all.

Place closes at 5 am so came here after a Sat night out from nearby. A little bit of a wait considering there were 4 other people ahead of us. One guy working while his partner looked like she was taking a break for the night? Could've been less of a wait if she was working. But anyway, each taco was $5, filled with nicely seasoned asada, cilantro and onion on a corn tortilla with spicy sauces available from a squeeze bottle (no to-go cups). I asked for no onion but he still gave me some. The flavor was good but the meat was poor quality, tough and unpleasant to chew through. I'd come back here for the flavor alone but I'd try the other meats to see if there's a difference in tenderness. Water was $2, reasonable price. They only take cash or Zelle.

I’ve been coming to this place for years and the service is always great! It can get packed so the waiting might be a little long but their food is worth the wait.

Best tripa tacos in New York, be sure to ask your tripa fried
The food is good, but the guy who takes the order touches money and adds the garnishes with no gloves. I've had to tell him to use gloves.

Pricey but good
Good food
I come by late night, about 1am, and the tacos are great, with very fresh onion and radish and cilantro, and the meat is hot and flavorful.
If there were 10 stars then that's what I'd rate El Idolo. This place has the most amazing, authentic, fresh Mexican tacos and quesadillas that I've ever tasted in my life. It's definitely worth the toll across the Tunnel. I'm from Jersey and I can't go home until I have my fix lol. I love it...yummmm
Very good I enjoy the quesadillas I still like the one on 14th street more!
