I came in with an impossible ask, a meal without lime or tomatoes (the lime is basically in everything). There was one choice. It was delicious though. And the proprietor gets food intolerance and said if I'd called ahead he'd have been glad to set me up with modified dishes. We ordered an appetizer of chanterelle mushroom sopes. It’s supposed to be the most spicy food in the restaurant. To be honest, it’s not too bad, and it’s actually delicious. Our entry is al pastor, and you get to make your own tacos. The only problem is that I asked them to get me some extra red sauce, and they charged me 5 bucks for that ?.The churros and drinks are all tasty too.
This place is a hidden gem. Food is really solid, tasty, and healthy! But the drinks are next level. I've gone twice now and have had the Bitter Gringo and it's one of the best cocktails I've had in NYC. And the staff is some of the friendliest people ever. I'd go back here again and again for their drinks.
