I recently experienced the Taikun Omakase splendor in Miami. I Felt in love with it, but what impressed me the most is somehow they new I really enjoyed a Blueberry muffin and a glass of milk after dinner. So at the end of the experience they brought me 2 blueberry muffins and a glass of milk. First time "someone" did this out of the blue....Я.А

You cant best Taikun. It’s truly the best omakase in the city - price point is very reasonable and there is not sacrifice in quality. I’ve been several times and the team is always on point. Highly recommend the beverage pairing. Will be back soon!

I find myself coming back over and over again to taikun. The quality and preparation of fish is incredible (I especially enjoy the smoked pieces), the service is impeccable, and all at an unbeatable $85 for omakase. They also have a bar hidden away behind the restaurant with an great list of Japanese whiskies as well as your normal fare!

Unbelievable hidden gem. Very private and intimate, with a light atmosphere. Food is outstanding as always, with seasonal additions to keep it new and fresh. Would definitely recommend the sake pairing - but the red wine is my go to for the smokier and more aromatic pieces. Fantastic for a sophisticated catchup with a friend, business meeting, or date.

The atmosphere and service are good, but the sushi isn’t great and I’m surprised by the overwhelmingly positive reviews. There was some good fish (standout being the uni which was a really great import from Hokkaido). There was some bad fish (the smoked mackerel was way too fishy and everyone in our party found it terrible). The sake list was overpriced for average sake. But worst of all the rice was stodgy and over cooked or over worked. The omakase price is the same price point of many great restaurants around (shiki, unique) and this was way worse than all the others I’ve been to of this price.

The highlight of Taikun is their light but notable touch of flavor to each piece through the use of soy and sake marinades, yuzu, or even olive oil. The marinades were used on their king salmon, tuna, and ikura, the last of which was my favorite of the three; at no other omakase have I tasted slightly sweetened salmon roe. The sea bream topped with olive oil was unexpected but the flavors mixed surprisingly well. One piece was topped with yuzu and chili, which was my favorite piece of the night. Another piece that was a crowd favorite was flavored with smoked hay. I appreciated that none of the additional flavors were overpowering. It was 13 pieces for $85, after which I admit I was still hungry (though of course you can purchase additional pieces). I did feel like I was missing certain pieces I always look forward to, such as unmarinated king salmon and unmarinated otoro and chutoro. There was however the usual seared tuna piece. The chef and waiter were both kind and knowledgeable. The chef said their usual lineup is always the same, with only the extra pieces changing depending on the season which I thought was a bit backward. The place was small and intimate but nothing extravagant. Overall, I enjoyed the refreshing and new flavors I wouldn't otherwise have at other omakases. I would consider Taikun toward the higher end of mid-tier omakases.

One of the best omakase for under $100! Ambiance was intimate and casual, in a 6 seater cozy space. 11 premium pieces (including my favorites sweet shrimp and uni) plus a handroll and dessert. You have an option to add more pieces. Dessert was served in a secret speakeasy where you can enjoy beverages and cocktails after.

Will have dinner this Sunday @ the Ritz Laguna Beach. It will be our 3rd time for this limited pop up location. Adrian and Chef Ben are the dynamic duo of sushi. Our Batman and Robin superhero's. Not much to say but Thank you! Cheers!

Was running late and everyone was very accommodating. The chef was very understanding and caught us up quickly with the rest of the omakase group. The sushi was delicious and I definitely recommend getting items a la carte that were not on the initial tasting menu.

This is for the pop-up Taikun at the Ritz in Dana Point. The 8 seat counter brought us close to the chef and the whole experience was made to be engaging. Need not to say that everything offered to us was fresh, but the way they were prepared and presented could only be described one of a kind. The use of salt, pepper, salmon roe, truffle, caviar, and other ingredients complimented the key pieces on top of the rice. From wagyu to otoro, best of the land and best of the sea. Plump oyster, sweet clean scallop, popping ikura, all came together to make this feast complete. Thank you Chef Ben! For making our anniversary dinner so memorable and tasty! The technique and finesse of sushi making was remarkable to watch. Thank you, Adrian for the hospitality and heart warming service you brought to us. Photos to speak for the good food.

Solid omakase experience. Good go-to if you’re craving some Omakase during the week and don’t want to break the bank.
