This has been my favorite neighborhood bar for many years now, and for many many reasons - great food, excellent drink choices, fabulous happy hour and nightly specials, great crowd and, at the top of that, simply amazing and friendly staff. On Thursday, November 27, 2025, my dark skinned African-American Female Partner and I had a 430pm reservation at Tara Rose. We were seated in the speakeasy downstairs. The speakeasy had mainly Asian and African descent patrons. As we sat down, we were hearing Nicki Minagh and other rappers singing about pussy and ass.

We asked the white waitress to see if there were seats upstairs and if she can change the music. The music was changed. The waitress returned....

I hosted my birthday party at Tara Rose, and it was such a great time! It's so hard to find a place to host in NYC that is affordable. Tara Rose had such a great deal that it made it affordable to host a group of friends. The drinks were amazing, and the vibe was incredible. Planning a party there was super easy - the managers were super responsive and answered all my questions. I'll definitely be back!
