Not the original. They copied his business after kicking him out of the place he ran for years. BOYCOTT AT ALL COSTS.

You should remove the adress from the pizzeria,it’s illegal to use someone else adress.

I don’t like to leave bad reviews, but the food here is just really gross and overpriced. I also wouldn’t have spent any money there if I’d known about the new owners poor business practices beforehand.Do yourself a favor and eat literally anywhere else.

This is not the original Taste of Persia, dont support a business that got rid of the original owner, Saeed, and copied his recipes

Excellent homey persian food. The long line and tight space are totally worth it because the food tastes heavenly, this place is very famous as serving "the best soup in new york" which is their Ash Reshteh, but actually every item on their menu is a must try! Amazing ghormeh sabzi and fesenjan. And they also have Kabab Tabei and Abgoosht which you cant get in other persian spots in NYC.

I don't recommend it at all! IMO this place is overpriced and overrated.I was so excited to go there after I watched two youtube vidéos about this place and its owner's story, so my wife and I went ther today and we are really disappointed. The worst ghaymeh and fesenjoon that I've ever had in my entire life.I am a Persian and I know how ghaymeh and fesenjoon should taste. Just look at the photos and search on internet, you'll see the difference. This was my last visit forever.

Got my Persian fix last night, the food never disappoints! Looking forward to the next visit!

I'm writing this review more as a memory for myself but it warms my heart to see how much people loved this place and Saeed Pourkay. I got to stop by here a before covid started. There was a constant line even though I was here on a random Wednesday night around 5:15pm. The shop shared it's space with a pizza joint (who apparently took over the old spot and is now trying to make a copy cat version called Tasty Persia w/out Saeed's consent). You ordered at the counter then find a seat and they'll bring you your food. For our meal my friend and I shared the following: 1) Fensenjan (Persian Pomegranate Chicken) & Kabob w/ Sumac Rice: -Fensenjan: The chicken was a soft but a bit dry. The sauce was tangy and spiced well but I would've liked a bit more of the fruity flavors of the pomegranate to come out (3.5/5) -Kabob: A decent kabob. Well seasoned and grilled (4/5) 2) Ash-e-Reshteh: A really viscous ash-e-reshteh. A homey hearty bean soup. The noodles were a bit soft for my liking but as a whole the bowl was perfect for a winter day. (4/5) 3) Abgoosht (Lamb Soup): Another really hearty bowl of soup. Tomatoey and a bit zippy with nice a starchy flavor and mouthfeel from all the beans. (4.25/5) Overall this place is an authentic rustic little Persian spot. Some of the food isn't as perfect texturally as I'd like but I figure it's also due to the limitations of the cooking space. I'm excited to hear that Saeed is trying to open a new place but that the process has been put on hold due to the pandemic. I really wish him the best of luck.

Absolutely phenomenal! A real New York favorite. We had such a great meal a few weeks ago and wish we could go back. Hope to see soon, Saeed! Daste shomâ dard nakone!

Asheh Reshteh is now my new comfort food!Visited this place after watching a Youtube video featuring the owner Mr.Saeed Pourkay's journey. He is such nice & welcoming guy! Since it was our first visit, he offered samples of every item on the menu. Asheh Reshteh (mixed beans & veggies soup) is a must-try.Also like the lamb & lentils curry with rice.

The new owner has stolen Saeed's recipe and brand. The new owner kicked him out after 8 years of passion and effort to build his brand and serve the people of NYC. Please do not go to this place anymore. Saeed is currently starting a law suit to fight back against the new greedy owner. DO NOT GO HERE ANYMORE!! Look up Saeed Pourkay on Facebook for further information.

[CLOSED DOWN on Jan 31! ] Taste of Persia and owner Saeed Pourkay were wonderful and a beloved part of our NYC community! But please DON'T EAT at the knock-off "Tasty Persia" now in its place or at "Pizza Paradise" across from it. These new owners kicked Saeed out on Jan 31, stole his recipes, identity and business. It's gross! Nothing tasty about this!

Read an article about how great this place is and how sad it was that the restaurant was closing so my boyfriend and I made time to go before it closed Jan 31. Service was quick and everything was hot. It's tasty and VERY reasonable price but nothing tastes that fresh. If you live/work in the area I'd say it was probably a good lunch spot but not worth the quest for a dinner. Still sad to see it close since so many people really love it but hopefully he can reopen somewhere new and better

Had to try this place after seeing a video about it online, and it was pretty good! We got the ash rehshteh noodle soup, and it was super tasty and unique. It was warm and herbacious, perfect for a cold January day. We got the medium which was perfect for sharing, and a great value for the price. Staff was also super friendly and helpful as well. Overall, definitely worth a try!

This is a hole in the wall place- don't be confused if you see pizza in there- they share the same store space with the Italian place. Seating is limited and they accept card. I got the chicken, rice and lamb kabab- yummy! Everything was so flavorful. The chicken curry had pomegranate and some nut flavor- it was delicious! The kabab was so soft and full of flavor. The owner is super sweet and let me try something that tastes like lentils- I can't recall the name but it was delicious too. I will definitely go back.
