A little disappointed with the famous Nathans, read on line there were veggie options and was greeted very a very miserable counter server who said there was none and then went on to offer very little alternative. No smile no customer service and for the price the portions were very small for my husbands hot dog :(
Just what you would expect. Good hot dogs! Don't forget the fries. They are excellent! I went for lunch. Minimum wait time.
I love the hot dogs and French fries at Nathan's. They have not changed since I was a child and hope that they do not change in the future. The hot dogs have a nice garlic flavor to them, and the fries are always so crisp and snap when you dip them in the ketchup. The service is always friendly and welcoming. I love eating outside on the tables in the warmer months and have done this since I was kid. This is what I love about Nathan's in Coney Island. It does not change.
In the States, Nathan's is the equivalent of hot dog. The original Coney Island store, operating since 1916, is the start of the American fast food chain. It also offers an extensive menu before hot dog and fries. A combo of hot dog and cheese fries is the essential Brooklyn experience.
A trip to the Boardwalk on Coney Island is a must for any tourist visiting New York City. Our first view after exiting our train was the defunct Parachute Drop tower. However, we were more interested in The Cyclone, one of the last wooden roller coasters in America and possibly the most famous. After enjoying this Luna Park historic ride, we ventured along the boardwalk to search out Nathan’s Famous, which is still famous for Joey Chestnut’s antics every July 4th downing copious quantities of hotdogs, bun and all. We enjoyed our Kosher style beef “dogs” with all the fixings including mustard, relish, sour kraut. Others in our party had them with ketchup (What a travesty!) but, what do they know. The hotdogs were great but I enjoyed the crinkle cut French Fries even more, served in a cardboard dish with wooden picks. They were so good that I went back for a second order. It was a fun afternoon. Too bad we didn’t bring bathing suits as the water looked inviting.
I had 2 hotdogs they are so good. Simple classic and now you can get them anywhere. Street venders and I had some at summerstage in the park. A great quick meal
Just by chance we went at 10 in the morning so can’t really comment how busy it gets as there was only a handful of people on there at that time. There’s a great range of food on the menu, it isn’t just Hot Dogs. As well as a hot dog I had the fish sandwich, which I was expecting to be similar to a fish fillet. However, it was so much bigger than that, it was two big pieces of fish with pickles lettuce and tartar sauce. The hot dogs were also pretty good as expected.
We tried the cheese fries our first night there, 10/10!! The cheese itself was hot and flavorful and the fries were the perfect amount of crispy. We tried the famous hot dogs for lunch the next day. I had a cheese dog and my girlfriend had the bacon cheese dog. The hotdog itself was average, but the cheese and bun were delicious! Nathan’s Famous is definitely worth checking out if you are in the area!
My fiance is from Brooklyn, I am from New Jersey. She loves Coney Island and always asks to go to Nathans for fish and chips dinner. We have been there many times before over the past five years we've been together. This last time, we ordered the fish and chips and a soda but when we went outside to eat at the tables after opening everything up, we found that we were not provided with utensils to eat it with. I went inside to obtain them and walked up to the counter. I waited a bit and noticed a man standing there close by who was wearing the Nathans uniform shirt and apron. I explained to him that I had just bought food but they neglected to provide utensils. His comment to me was "Oh ,yeah?" to which he just ignored me. I said to him, "I'm sorry, I must have mistook you for someone who works here." He replied "Let one of the girls take care of you." and went right on ignoring me. Eventually I caught the eye of some young lady who was nice enough to help and she handed me the utensils I needed to eat our food. Before I left I photographed the person who refused to help and told him I was going to nominate him for "employee of the month". The food was good as always but this "employee" really left a bad taste in my mouth. This last time we spent over thirty dollars for the food and I found it a pity that Nathans has an employee who has such an attitude that he does not care about the customers enough to help out. I seriously doubt I will be back, not because of the food but the attitude.
I am not a hotdog person but I want to experience Nathan’s. The fries are the best so whatever you order don't forget to order fries.

It’s famous and our goal was to have one hotdog during our trip to NYC. This was our choice. Hot dog was good BUT not worth the price (in my opinion). $5.36 fir an original. Tasty flavour with a fresh bun.
Flew in from California. Got in line at 8am and made it to the stage to watch the MLE Nathan's hot dog eating contest live. Then we had some hot dogs at the original Nathan's. They have way more food options than I thought.
Loved the food here. We both had the fish burgers which are huge! Only thing that let this place down was that it has self service kiosks for you to place your order but you only order a limited number of items from these. Why can you not order from the whole menu? This would cut down the time spent waiting in line just to place your order.
First of all the cleanliness is A1, service A1 and food quality A1. If you go to New York or Coney Island you have to stop here to get a hot dog. I had a hot dog and onion rings both outstanding and a large orange aid , little lemonade but orange and fantastic. Prices are good you will enjoy.
Hotdog is my sport and the way to live It with a great big hot dog and drinks and friends what a place so what's your sport so come have fun
