Finally tried Lol Chef Mama and the setup hits different. Got their Thai set meal and honestly it's a lot of food for the price - the big main dish is a fried fish with no bones which is a game changer, crispy on the outside, tender inside, you don't have to pick around anything just eat. White rice, gyoza topped with green onions that were crispy and juicy, stir-fried veggies with shredded cabbage that had good wok flavor and a nice kick to it, a fresh green salad with shredded carrots, edamame, and hands down the best soup I've had in a minute. The soup was seriously the star of the whole tray, packed with a bit of zest that hit just right, rich, flavorful, could've had two more bowls of it alone.
The gyoza were solid too - pan-fried just right, green onions on top added a nice crunch. Everything had a little zest to it that kept you going back for another bite. Paired it with an iced Thai tea which was sweet and refreshing. They also had Brooklyn Brewery beers available if you want to keep it casual.
Menu had a QR code so ordering is easy. Spot's worth checking out if you want a solid Thai set meal with some kick without overthinking it. Would go back for that soup and that fried fish alone.

I spent nearly $90 on an order from Lil Chef Mama and was extremely disappointed. The calamari was the worst I've ever had. Instead of being crispy and fried, it was soggy, greasy, and extremely oily. The Pad See Ew was so oily and mushy that I felt sick after eating it. The other dish was equally disappointing and not worth discussing in detail. Overall, the food tasted overly oily, lacked texture, and seemed overpriced for the quality received. We ended up not finishing most of the meal because we felt unwell afterward. Based on my experience, I would rather walk to Chinatown for authentic food and better value. Unfortunately, I will not be ordering from here again.

Service was very attentive. We had honey pork slider (delicious), calamari (skip it), chicken pad thai (prob one of the best), and yellow curry chicken (very good). Place is on a very quiet block but very cute inside with plenty of sitting. UPDATED for Delivery: portions are 1/2 the size of dining in, and wasn’t as fresh as dining in either

We visited Lil Chef Mama at 27 Cliff Street on May 16th at 11:15 AM.
Our party of seven was treated poorly from the moment we walked in. The older female staff member who greeted us came across as extremely rude and acted as though seating us was some kind of inconvenience.
What made the situation worse was that the restaurant was completely empty at the time, yet she chose to place our group at what was clearly the least desirable table in the establishment. Instead of seating us comfortably at one of the many open tables, she gathered extra chairs and squeezed all seven of us tightly together despite there being ample space elsewhere.
Her attitude and overall demeanor were cold and unwelcoming throughout the interaction.
We ultimately decided to leave before ordering and cut our losses while we still could.
I would avoid this establishment. Customer service and hospitality clearly do not seem to be priorities here.

We arrived as a large group to an otherwise empty restaurant and were immediately asked if we had a reservation. After we said we did not, the front desk staff spent several minutes speaking with the owner before coming back to us. During that time, we were left awkwardly standing at the entrance with no communication.
In the end, we decided to take our business elsewhere. The owner came across as unfriendly and made it feel as though accommodating us was an inconvenience rather than welcoming potential customers.

Took my mom here for Mother’s Day and we really enjoyed it. The pork was my favorite.. it was flavorful, tender, and honestly one of my favorite things we ordered. The pineapple fried rice was also really good and came out fresh and hot. The atmosphere was beautiful, cozy, and perfect for a nice dinner without feeling too formal. Service was smooth and the food was worth it. My Guyanese mother is very honest about food and she didn’t complain once definitely a good sign. Would absolutely come back.
