Tourist trap! Very anti-family establishment. They forced a mother to remove her sleeping newborn out of the bassinet, when there was clearly enough space at the table. Food is very poor quality, lobster roll chewy, and the other dish was not fresh; can tell everything is premade. Service was minimal, with pre-charged 20% tip. The germaphobic still living in the pandemic hostess was the worst

You would almost expect an extraordinary venue that is a magnet for tourists to get lazy over time and deliver mediocre food and service - apparently not so for the Boathouse! Just a wonderful experience all around. Pleasant and efficient service and great food. Beautiful location as well, of course.

I was at the boathouse many years ago and I loved it. We bought new friends this time and was very hopeful that it would be as wonderful as before. Well it was!!! This spot is magical and I will always make it an essential part of any trip to New York. Food, ambiance, attention to detail are exceptional. Best crab cake ever! And I have tried many!! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

What is so good about this place is the atmosphere/ambience/setting. It's lovely to dine right next to the lake at a white table clothed table. The food is ok, nothing great as I think it should be for such a pretty place. Nice wine menu. The caprese salad was weird and really not very good, the cheesecake dessert was ok, my ravioli nice, my friend's linguini was ok...certainly not worth $180! The service was also weird-our qentrees came at the same time as the salad. They brought the entres back to the kitchen and said they would make new fresh ones. Did they? Who knows. Anyway I will be back and try some other food but it was just ok...the setting was great however...so pretty

We had a fabulous time. Dinner was delicious, good value for your money. Service was very quick and we received our meal quickly. Loved looking out on the water as we ate. A fabulous meal for a once in a lifetime trip.

My husband and I sat Dock side before dinner, we had drinks and appetizers. I was drinking champagne. When we were at the restaurant I ordered the same Champagne I was drinking outside. The waiter brought me a different champagne, it was sweeter and the color was lighter, I tasted the difference immediately. I told the waiter, he apologized and said he picked it up from the bar. I asked him for another glass and to pour it at our table, he opened a new bottle at our table. I do not think it was the waiter's fault, I think it was the bartender's. Maybe he didn't want to open a new bottle or maybe he was trying to pass off a cheaper champagne, whatever the reason I think it is disgusting when you try and take advantage of the customer.

Service was horrendous and they said that our waiter had a family emergency, I hope everything's okay but that doesn't excuse the fact that is was my first time here and in Central Park in general and we weren't asked if we wanted refills, our plates were never cleared, and we didn't see staff for 45 minutes at one point. For the amount you're paying it's gross. Not to mention the hostess being an actual pain in our a**. Giving my friend a hard time because she tried to check in at 1:50 when our reservation was at 1:45, didn't let us sit outside and it's NOT cute inside. Luckily we made a fuss (only because it was our first time and we had saved up for this place) and someone else sat us outside since it wasn't full at all like she said. Honestly so disappointed. Save your money.

Good! but we made a reservation at 8:30 PM and everything had to be very quick, when we arrived because kitchen was closing and later because restaurant was. May be they should not allow reservations later than 8 PM.
Magical experience at this beautiful restaurant. The view was absolutely stunning , we loved watching the boaters and the ducks from our table. Food was delicious! Definitely one of our favorite restaurants we have ever been to.

The food was very good, the ambiance is always fantastic. I have been going to this restaurant for many many years and now they are open again after a long time closed I am so happy that they are back. Still not the same, the staff needs to be properly trained, and the bartender Joshua definitely is not for the task, he should be retrained or reallocated in another position. They need to change the lights at the main entrance and redecorate the area, it feels a bit "raw". They change the countertop at the bar, they try to make it something that is not The Boathouse, a few details (warming up the space with decor, for example). The view of the lake while you are eating is absolutely priceless

The person that I dined with has some diet restrictions and our server, Marina , went over and above to make sure that the Restaurant would accommodate! Marina is  very personable and very professional. She made our whole dining experience very pleasant.!  she was just wonderful!!! And so was the food and cocktails! Can't wait to return!
