Was extremely excited to visit this champagne bar, but was turned away for “not being dressed in business casual”. Typically, I am understanding. Until I looked at the bar and saw other women dressed the same exact way as me. It’s unfortunate to feel not welcome.

This was on my bucket list. I was very disappointed in the service! They treated us like we should be honored to be sitting in their bar. They were not attentive we had to ask for everything. I noticed they treated everyone the same except a few repeat customers who they were very attentive. I will never go back. The Peninsula was SO much better and the Waldorf Astoria was outstanding. Their service was fantastic. The Plaza does not deserve my patronage.

I came on a Saturday night, and the place is mostly empty. They added me to the waiting list. For a champagne bar, they have limited champagne by the glass. They don't offer olives or snacks, unlike most hotel bars in Europe like Le Cheval Blanc in Paris or Beau Rivage Palace in Lausanne. In fact, I think the Mandarin Oriental Hotel bar at Columbus Circle is a better option. First, the view is incredible. Second, they have excellent service, and at least they offer snacks with your drink.

If you're going to splurge on an afternoon cocktail in New York, the Plaza Champagne Bar is a pretty great place to do it.
We stopped in after a long walk from the Met, and it was exactly the kind of pit stop the city doesn't offer enough of. The room is grand without being stuffy, all soaring ceilings, crystal chandeliers and the kind of polished marble that reminds you where you are. The service was impeccable.
I had the Bloody Mary, which came garnished with a cocktail shrimp and was genuinely excellent. Everyone in our group enjoyed their drinks. Yes, it's spendy, but you know that going in. For the setting and the experience, it's worth every penny.

The food at the Champagne Bar is a delightful surprise and perfectly complements the refined, elegant atmosphere of the space. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared, with high-quality ingredients and balanced flavors that feel both sophisticated and comforting. The menu focuses on well-executed classics with a modern touch — light yet satisfying plates that pair beautifully with champagne. From fresh salads and delicate starters to warm, flavorful dishes, everything is presented with attention to detail and consistency. The flavors are clean, refined, and never overpowering, allowing the quality of the ingredients to truly stand out. What really elevates the experience is how seamlessly the food works with the champagne selection. Each bite feels intentionally designed to enhance the overall tasting experience, making the meal feel indulgent without being heavy. Overall, the Champagne Bar offers food that matches its elegant setting: refined, well-crafted, and enjoyable. A great choice for a relaxed yet upscale dining experience, whether for a casual lunch, an early dinner, or champagne-focused evening out.
buenísimo todo perfecto hotel guapísimo limpieza personal comedor.comida me encantaría repetir todo enjeneral bien un ..10..
What a fabulous experience we had yesterday visiting for afternoon tea. Beautiful cakes and sandwiches. My only critique was the sugar sticks instead of sugar cubes and the tea wasnt piping hot and was surprised it was tea bags instead of loose tea.
Terrible experience. Went in with my sister for a drink, the server could have cared less that she had to serve us, the bar was empty and it took 20 minutes to get our drinks, when we were served our drinks, the one drink was supposed to be “rimmed with black salt” that was a joke (see picture below) when we asked to return the drink and get a new one the server rolled her eyes and eventually brought us a replacement drink. When we were brought our bill, the tip was already included(18%), with the expectation of a tip on top of that. We were looking forward to having a drink at a plaza our entire trip and it was absolutely ruined by the snobbery of the staff. Extremely disappointed. Because of the prestige of this hotel they don’t have to care about the patronage that comes in to the bar because they will never go out of business. Save your money, don’t go to plaza. Take some pictures if you want and spend your money somewhere else. We got two drinks and including the self determined tip it came out to $80. absolutely ridiculous.

TL;DR: Beautiful bar inside The Plaza with classy cocktails, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere. Pricey but worth it for the experience.
Stopped by The Plaza for a drink and it was exactly what I hoped for. The bar feels refined without being stuffy. The cocktails were balanced and refreshing. We tried two different ones and both were excellent. Service was attentive and professional, and the staff made the visit feel special even though we just stopped in for a quick drink.
The setting is what really makes it: marble everywhere, warm lighting, and that mix of old New York charm with a bit of movie nostalgia (the Eloise corner is a nice touch).
If you’re nearby and want a calm, elegant place to unwind, this spot is perfect. Definitely a splurge, but you’re paying for the experience as much as the drinks.
