A curious downstairs space with solid drinks and solid food and which is exactly the kind of Lord of the Rings Shire den you'd want to pop into on a chilly night to catch up with your buddies. If you don't expect more you won't be disappointed and if you're looking for just that, you will find yourself in heaven.
Was visiting NYC recently, and my wife and I wanted to go to a bar. Nothing fancy, not really a restaurant, just a bar--this place delivered. A couple of beers, some decent onion rings and a volume level inside the establishment that allows for normal conversation. Recommended.
I frequented this place when it was Allstate Cafe. This was my first time at Emerald Inn, I came to play pool last night and it was too early, only one patron was there. I sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender. His name is John and he was very nice and made me feel comfortable. The wine was good and the service was great.
