Great variety of sardines and other canned seafood products such as octopus. It is undoubtedly an ideal store to buy sardines made into souvenirs to treasure…

Overpriced tourist trap.

If tinned fish was an art form, this store is a museum and gallery exhibition combined! Just steps away from Times Square, you can't help but stop and then go in just from the store front alone!

If you are a super-fan of sardines and have been wondering your whole life where you can find a one-stop shop for all your sardine cravings (which I have not), this is the place. Enter and you think you are in a prop house from the Wonderful Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios, with the colorful interior and vaulting ceilings filled with what looks like mini-volumes of books upon first glace, until you realize, from floor to ceiling, the walls are filled with sardines! It's a bizarre concept, one that seems popular in Europe, though I doubt this place will persevere beyond "weird oddity" in Times Square. Whoever put this place together, however, bet the farm it would because it's exquisite on the inside despite the fact I was the only customer in there on a busy Sunday afternoon in Times Square. Sardine cans are decorative, but expensive. I asked for the most popular choice, and it cost me $30.00. I plan to put it on a homemade pizza very soon!

Didn’t purchase anything from here, but the staff were friendly, would’ve maybe purchased if the prices weren’t so high but it is in Times Square so probably to be expected.

Beautiful cans, which I guess you can keep as souvenirs. But to buy for the sardines inside is ridiculous. They are priced 5 to 10 times higher then even good imported Portuguese sardines are anywhere else. Many people walking in to check it out, but literally no one was buying anything at this overpriced tourist trap. They will be out of business within a year.

Amazing to find a Portuguese store in Times Square. Of course it has to be expensive! I don't even understand who criticizes, frankly! Very polite and attentive staff and of course I brought a can of my birth year.

What an unexpected gem! A tinned fish shop right in the heart of Times Square is as random as it sounds. The sight of millions of colorful tinned sardines decorating the store was both epic and, indeed, fantastic. Initially skeptical about spending a premium on tinned fish without understanding what made it special, I took a leap of faith (or craziness) and brought a tin home. It turns out, this shop represents the oldest fish-in-the-tin business from Portugal, with NY being their first foray into going global. I opted for the sardines in olive oil, a seemingly standard choice that packed a surprise with its slightly smaller sardines compared to what you typically find in supermarkets. The tenderness, delightful aroma, and complex flavors of these sardines were a rather shock. Four pieces simply weren't enough. Learning about the shop's heritage added a layer of appreciation for the product, despite the near $20 price tag for a tin feeling super steep, especially in a tourist-centric area. Yet, considering its uniqueness and quality, it could make for an excellent gift idea. Encountering this store was a quirky, memorable experience, emblematic of New York's unexpected surprises. Definitely worth a visit for anyone looking to experience a slice of Portugal in the city or searching for a unique, high-quality yet random gift.

What a fun - and EXPENSIVE - store of primarily tinned sardines! Like a toy store, beautifully arranged and set up. They also had many other types of seafood like mussels and shrimp, as well as other fish like salmon, tuna, sea bream, trout and others. Worth a visit.

It's colourful and beautifully decorated and the staff are friendly. The price is quite expensive for a tin canned sardines. It's still worth a visit. A very unique gift idea.

So I had just returned from Portugal when I saw on TV that this place had opened! It's much smaller than the original ones in Portugal but it definitely has the essence. But sooo expensive the cans are very pretty very artful so I would love to display it in my kitchen. ok is it sardine? It art ? $118 for 6 sardines cans? The reg w skin is $12 each n the one wo skin, in olive oil is $20. As if Americans love canned fish...

Such a neat store! Prices are a little high but it's in a pretty touristy place, so it can be a little expected. But the place itself it really neat to look at! Beautifully organized and colorful store with tons of different variations of seafood. Employees were helpful and recommended some products. I definitely recommend checking it out!
