Despite both the food and the wine pairings exceeding expectations, I would recommend The Modern to others only with a significant caveat about making no plans for any event after a meal there. Our dinner began with our waiter asking whether we had any post-meal commitment – a very wise question – but in the end our answer made no difference. We had a lovely evening at this restaurant and honestly cannot believe it isn’t raved about more often, especially as a 2 star. From start to finish, the entire experience was great. \n\nThe wine program in particular deserves a spotlight. Jenna, the sommelier (originally from California, if I remember her name correctly I hope), was phenomenal. I love this place. It's got it all. Outstanding food...creativity, presentation and totally delicious. It's a lovely restaurant and not stuffy or pretentious. Their restaurant week offer is absolutely the best. I definitely want to call attention to their brilliant staff. My personal favorites are Casey, Katherine and Arantza!!!
