Noortwyk is somewhere I keep coming back to! I’ve been with friends, with my entire team, on a date, for dinner and for brunch. It’s one of my fav spots in the west village and one that you can usually get a reservation at relatively last minute - a HUGE plus!!
For brunch I enjoyed their breakfast sandwich and cinnamon roll - ileene cho is their pastry chef who is amazing!!
For dinner I love the kale salad, bucatini, bbq duck and their parker house seeded roll with cultured butter (so good we always end up ordering two!).
I used to love their original Mille Feuille but have been disappointed by their 2.0 version which they’ve ‘deconstructed’. This no longer feels like a premium dessert/Mille Feuille but instead more a random pieces of puff pastry on top of some bananas and cream. Please bring back 1.0!! :)
Service I find is a little inconsistent - first few times I went service was very attentive, welcoming and helpful but on my most recent trip it was less so.

the parker house roll was really good. the cha siu bun was also very good, and i was pleased the foie gras butter was on the side since i’m not a fan of foie gras.
the bucatini pasta was unfortunately in an oily slightly spicy lemon sauce, which i didn’t like. the crab in it was good though.
Nothing special. The reviews definitely overhyped this place. Don’t get the dessert, it’s really bad. The branding wasn’t bad but the portion was small. The bread starter was my favorite

this review is more in the mindset of cafe than restaurant because all i had was pastries. that being said it was really good. went for the cinnamon roll which was insane. i’m a frosting lover so i was in my heaven with the amount of frosting they put on it. the roll itself i wish had more cinnamon but the frosting was unreal. also tried the chocolate pistachio kouglaf which i wasn’t a huge fan of. a little dry and not enough chocolate or pistachio so it was a skip for me. definitely want to check out the dinner here. atmosphere is cute and service is great!

Overall, lovely dining room, excellent service, good food, stay away from the cocktails
First things first, unfortunately, the cocktails here are very pretty but really not drinkable… maybe stick with wine/ beer..
We ordered a cocktail off the menu as well as a dirty martini (which was decent). Then we ordered a gin and tonic and an old fashioned - these were so not good that we left them on the side of the table for the night and I stuck to diet cokes.
As for the food, it was pretty decent.
Parker house rolls - these were delightful - warm and buttery
Raw oysters - pretty standard
Prosciutto Cotto and Comte - also pretty standard
Caviar hash brown and crème fraiche - delicious!
Agnolotti with sunchoke, hazelnut and black truffle - the pasta was good and so were the flavors but a little too sweet for my taste
Bucatini with crab and ‘nduja - again good flavors but a little sour for my taste
Last but not least, we got the chateaubriand special (17 oz) which was cooked nicely and was tender. Came with fried potatoes which were perfect!
For dessert, we ordered the Mille feuille (banana, stout caramel, pecan) - this was a yummy way to end the meal

Vegetarian options: I have forgotten the specifics as listed in the restaurant’s menu, however I dined here with my family for thanksgiving day and my dad is a very picky eater and on top of that, a vegetarian himself.
Kid-friendliness: This restaurant wouldn’t be considered to be all that “welcoming” for little kids. As well, the menu from what I can recall consists of a generally quite strong taste.

The Duck Fried Rice was the best item we tried. Burgers were overcooked but the horseradish aioli was delicious. The Honey Cardamom Toast is another table favorite.

It was fine. I didn’t like sitting by the bathrooms. The wine was good and the oysters were fresh and cold. The bun was really good too.
Dietary restrictions: Offered suggestions to accommodate us.
Kid-friendliness: If they’re well behaved it’s a fine atmosphere to have kids join. If they don’t behave I’d skip it and try somewhere else.

I thought the food we got was alright. It seemed like a fusion of a lot of different cuisines and there was nothing too special about each dish. Nothing about the flavours popped out to me too much. But, the desserts were some of the best desserts I have ever had, every single dessert we ordered on the menu was delicious. So, food was okay but dessert was amazing!

Food tastes very average except the entrees. If I would have known, I would have just ordered the larger entrees and not the other stuff. Service was kind of slow. The drinks tasted awful. My husband ordered the Pickled Vodka drink and I ordered The Blue Note, both were awful. The Heirloom tomato with peaches dish … didn’t have peaches in it. And if it did, we couldn’t taste it. The Tartare was too citrusy. All I tasted was citrus. My fav was probably the smoked Salmon and Clam Linguine. I don’t recommend this place if you are a foodie. Also, our drinks came after the food. The ambiance is nice though.

Go to appreciate a wonderful neighborhood meal, and you will get the best Noortwyck has to offer. Classy, tasty, friendly, and elegant. The Noortwyck delivers all of the delight without the stuffiness. Perfect for a date or a small group of friends.
Enjoyed the tuna, duck, kale, and LOVED the clam linguine. Drank cocktails and wine and love it all.
Service was excellent.
Can’t recommend any more!!!
