I love Café Luxembourg on the upper West side and they have the same owners and virtually the same menu so this restaurant doesn't ever disappoint. The only issue was there was a bumblebee outside The Odeon and so they graciously allowed us to move inside because the bee would not stop bothering us and trying to eat our food. The importance thing about the Odeon that distinguishes it from the majority Manhattan restaurants is that it is not noisy. It is possible to have a conversations where participants can enjoy hear each other Beyond that, the food, service and prices are very good .I recommend without qualification.
As always, the food at the Odeon was top notch. However, despite making the reservation for 6 people about a month ago, we were not seated until 20 minutes after our reservation time (There was 7 of us, rather than 6 but I called the restaurant the day before to give them a heads-up and arrived 15 minutes early to my reservation to confirm this). Given that this was a client lunch in the middle of the day, with 7 people - a twenty-minute wait time despite everyone in the party...
