I've been coming to Oma Shop for years now, it's easily my favorite coffee shop in Hamilton Heights. Not just for the coffee and food but also for the great people working there and visiting. Kate makes me laugh everytime I'm there, on top of making a great latte and memorizing my order. If you're new to the neighborhood, it's a great spot to meet people and make new friends in the area.

The new Oma shop location on 146th and Frederick Douglas service is very bad. I’m not sure if the girl who is working behind the register is racist or just very bad at customer service, whenever I go there she gives me dirty looks and don’t even say hi, thank you, goodbye. But I saw her communicating with black customers and she is totally different with them, laughing, talking, making conversation and saying thank you and all the basic customer service things. The owner is very nice, however this girl who works behind the register is absolutely rude and racist towards asian people and white people. I will not going to be going there anymore. And anyone who is asian or white, do not go there unless you want to get dirty looks and bad customer service. Do better!

Lovely space, great coffee and pastries (the vanilla cream filled donut!) and eclectic playlists filling the space with good music.

I love this coffee shop! Their espresso drinks, matcha, and chai are all delicious. I love going on a weekend morning and sitting out front while caffeinating! The owner and all the baristas I've encountered are lovely. Also, they have an array of homewares, beauty products, candles, and books for sale and beautifully displayed. This is my go to coffee place in the neighborhood.

So cute and such a nice and friendly barista. Portion sizes are small but the coffee is great.

Extremely hit or miss depending on the coffee being brewed and the person behind the bar. I had a stellar 5 star experience when the shop had some great coffee being ground/brewed, and the staff was welcoming. I also had a 0 star visit when the barista couldn't care less about me being there. Without exaggerating, she didn't utter a single word to me when I entered, ordered, paid, grabbed my drink, and left. A truly baffling experience that didn't make me feel welcome as a customer. I probably wouldn't return if I see she's behind the bar.Beautiful shop though.

My husband and I adore this coffee shop! Lately, if we go an hour before they close, they aren't using their espresso machine. Unsure of what is going on. Maybe they changed their hours?

I had an unfortunate experience during my visit to this coffee shop. I initially tipped $5, thinking the barista might be having a bad day. However, I felt I was treated with a poor attitude when I asked about the restroom and later when requesting that the music be turned down. The situation escalated further, leading to an uncomfortable confrontation that included the barista using inappropriate language. Unfortunately, the owner also did not handle the situation well. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this establishment to others.Edit: I am concerned about the owner's response, which not only included calling me a 'tyrant' and mentioning a 'wall of shame,' but also involved threatening me with the phrase "no one can save you now". I am unsure why a factual review is interpreted as a form of blackmail. The video she shared, in my view, supports my account of events. In it, you can hear the music increase in volume and my polite requests to turn it down. You can also see the barista approaching me in a manner that I felt was aggressive, which led to the unfortunate escalation of the situation.I believe that setting boundaries in a customer service environment is important, and that the behavior I experienced crosses those boundaries. No one should be subjected to disrespectful treatment, and I stand by my experience as a warning for potential future customers. I would hope for more understanding and accountability from both the staff and ownership.
