I stumbled on this lovely gem in Harlem while waiting for my daughter’s gymnastics class to be over. It is such a cozy place and the barbershop in the back was such a nice surprise! I asked the very pleasant guy working there if they still do haircuts but he believes they are slowing eliminating that. Also the small plates are no longer available but they make it up with their drink menu and very healthy snacks.

Sophia was beautiful inside and out and very professional. Being an African American male in New York I have felt uncomfortable if I have extended my time as a customer at other coffee shops by doing work and having coffee. This place makes you feel at home and we need to start supporting this business . Please come and enjoy the atmosphere
Sophia thanks for being nice and kind to me today

Imani is my barber here and she is a complete joy to be around. She is extremely talented and kind. Imani was the first barber to truly listen to wants and she is very educated about hair. HARLEM LOVES YOU!!!

I usually stop into Oma a few time a week for a specialty drink, even though I often make my own coffee or visit the deli across the street. Until today, I’ve always had a great experience—the baristas have been friendly, professional, and quick to resolve any issues. Unfortunately, today’s visit was very different.

When I asked the barista to return to the payment screen so I could enter my rewards number before paying (to ensure my points were applied correctly), she became visibly annoyed. Instead of assisting politely, she processed a refund for a charge that hadn’t actually gone through and seemed unsure how to use the register. When preparing my latte, I noticed that half of the espresso shot was dripping outside of the cup. I mentioned this twice, and she dismissed me with, “I know what I’m doing.”

At that point, I chose not to take the drink and asked for her name so I could follow up with management. She refused—multiple times—saying, “You’re not entitled to my name,” and even told me to “go ahead and leave a Google review.” As a small business owner myself, I understand how important professionalism and customer service are to maintaining a loyal customer base. Her response and attitude were completely unacceptable and unprofessional.

Every other barista at Oma has been lovely, courteous, and eager to help when issues arise. It’s unfortunate that one person’s attitude can leave such a negative impression on an otherwise great neighborhood café. I hope management addresses this situation promptly, as I would like to continue supporting this business—but only if the standard of respect and service I’ve come to expect is restored.

The concepts looks good on paper but I do not think the place is being updated and retouched, so the atmosphere is not the best. The pastries at the front are great!

This is a cool cafe. The coffee and hot chocolate are good (I haven't eaten there yet, but the menu looks nice), and the interior decor is stylish and minimal. There is a long seating area, and it doesn't feel crowded, and the restroom was clean and spacious. The attached hair salon adds a positive layer of intrigue to an already chic setup. I'll be returning...
