Overall nice, presentation was beautiful, service was average, nothing special or especially friendly. The room was rather loud and the food was good but not special or exceptional. Many items only had a bite or 2 taken out of them and left us wanting something more.....
Such a classic event (Tea at the Plaza). I actually thought it was a great deal ($125 pp) and the food was delicious, as was the tea. Feels fun to dress up and go out for something fancy! And for a special occasion (my birthday) they brought out a special treat.
We arrived promptly for our reservation at 4pm. The waiter approached us immediately and asked me and my guests to order quickly because the chef would like to go home at 4:30!! Besides being incredibly inhospitable, did he really think the staff couldn't place a few pastries on a tray without the chef?The waiter persisted in calling me by my first name.
