I had a delicious dinner at the bar in late March 2024.I checked in at the host stand and was offered an immediate seat at the bar or a table with an approximate wait time of 15 minutes.Tony and the team at the Palm Court were attentive and the food was delicious. It was fun to craft a customized spirit-free beverage. Lovely space. Worth a visit.

I would recommend sitting at the bar to soak in the atmosphere. The setting is gorgeous, you're in the The Plaza New York so if you're whining about cost, don't come here - it's an iconic memorable one off experience and the bar staff were fantastic to me. The Winter Sangria will be a drink I think about for a long long time. Delicious.

Had afternoon tea with my teenager girls as we were on a trip and this was on their list. We enjoyed it, but would not do this again. The tea and the food were lovely. The choices were delicious except for the fois gras macaron. We were disappointed there were no sugar cubes, only packets. The restrooms are located very far away and everything around the The Palm looked like it was under maintenance. We feel it was not worth the price for the ambience of the whole experience.

Trashy. Massive disparity between price and reality.Come to find out, the Plaza was apparently sold to a Qatari private equity firm, Katara Hospitality, in 2018 and clearly the play is to leverage the reputation of the Plaza to bilk people while not providing any of the service that earned that historic reputation. If you have expectations for an upscale High Tea ($150pp) you will be sorely disappointed. The ambiance is more like a Starbucks with disgusting, dirty bathrooms that literally had no toilet paper and aimless tourists milling about in sweatpants you have to squeeze past to go anywhere. The new staff is not well trained and rudely removed our plates and utensils while we were eating. It was very challenging to get basic things like water refilled let alone any of the normal levels of service you would expect for this price, like having your coats checked. We were obviously missing utensils, water, tea etc. They would interrupt us to robotically ask "How are we doing?" but if we made requests they would forget about them before coming back to interrupt us again with another "How are we doing?" They rushed us out with the bill mid-meal as well. The food was basic and super sugary.Avoid and have a much better experience for the money elsewhere.

My husband and I went there for our wedding anniversary mid-March and the service was nothing short from amazing! They made our experience feel so special and were accepting to any food accommodation. Our server Kazi was excellent and made sure we got the best out of our celebration. We can't wait to be back in NYC to go there again, the price is definitely worth it - not to mention the place is absolutely stunning!

Very disappointed with the afternoon tea that was hoped to be the highlight of our NY experience with my 16 and 20 year old granddaughters. The Servers were lovely and that is about the only thing I can say positive. The desserts tasted like they came from Sam’s or Costco. The scones were cold and hard and who wants a dark chocolate scone with lemon curd. It is embarrassing to myself that I paid $475 for three of us for a few finger sandwiches and fake desserts.

This was my 2nd time there, this time serving was so bad, I don’t know if management has changed. Gentlemen who was serving us (Mr. Kabir A) didn’t know what he was doing, we were 4 people & he brought us only 1 teapot & never approached to provide us with more tea, my plate was dirty & no one approached to change the plates. It’s The Plaza & I would expect good service specially if the are charging $200 per person. I’m very disappointed & would not recommend anyone.

My friends and I went to Palm Court at the Plaza for High Tea and had a fabulous time. The small bites were delicious and they even curated a vegan and vegetarian menu for the two of us who needed it. The service was impeccable and we really appreciated Fariz's attentiveness and good nature. Would definitely recommend for a memorable high tea experience in NYC! Book ahead if you can!

Great place to site, conversation and enjoy some delicious tea. The atmosphere was fantastic which makes up for the pricey, delicious food. Quality is everything to me and this venue mark the occasion!

Extremely average high tea in an extremely beautiful setting. Absolutely avoid this afternoon tea at all costs, particularly if you’ve previously experienced a proper high tea in London before. You will be deeply disappointed by the lackluster service and underwhelming food, and you will be enormously enraged by the colossal price tag attached to the experience. To start with: we were met by doormen who seemed more interested in smoking and gossiping then assisting patrons, which I wasn’t too fussed about initially, but the following experience at the afternoon tea demolished any slightly sympathetic feeling I might have had.The food: both the finger sandwiches and scones were dry, and the truffle flavour in one of the scones completely overwhelming and quite off-putting. The fillings of the sandwiches were pleasant, but the serving portions extremely tiny, so that pleasure was short lived. The pastries were the standout among the offerings. Anyone who has partaken in a proper high tea in London will know that “refills” are par for the course - if you like something on offer you can order as many of them as you like. No such luck here at the Plaza, so savour every mouthful! As for the service, an automatic gratuity was added which would explain our waiter’s complete lack of interest in providing anything that could remotely be associated with hospitality. He poured our tea without letting it draw (which, I mean, come on - the whole point of this experience IS the tea), brought our food, and then ignored us until it was time to bring the bill. Although the setting of the Palm Court is beautiful, the patron seated at the next table seemed more interested in having loud FaceTime conversations and playing YouTube videos then taking in the ambience. Unsurprisingly, this behaviour was not addressed by the waitstaff. The cleaner that then began vacuuming under our chairs while we were still finishing our food really just put the cherry on top of the whole awful experience. In short - the afternoon tea is nowhere near as good as the $150pp price tag and hotel reputation would indicate. Sit at the bar and have a drink if you want a more vibey experience in this admittedly gorgeous venue.

I had tea with a friend yesterday in the palm court. The setting is pretty, but things like restrooms have broken door latches, and areas out of the main lobby and palm court are seedy. The service was fine, but the food was abysmal and the price outrageous.I gave the food zero stars. The cucumber sandwiches were the best food. Other sandwiches were mediocre at best. Scones were virtually inedible, a sickeningly chocolate variety, and a truffle variety we couldn't eat--why not serve a glorious vanilla scone that goes well with the lemon curd and fruit jam? The putative Devonshire cream bore no relation whatsoever to real clotted cream--we really do know the difference. And the little desserts were nearly all cloyingly sweet. Finally, the bill was $376 with the automatically added 18% gratuity. My friend had one cocktail and I had nothing but tea.I make afternoon tea at home for friends now and then that is infinitely better. Don't do it folks!

I was looking forward to trying out The Plaza's afternoon tea and took my partner there for our anniversary. I had made requests in advance for a nice table. When we arrived we were seated on a table that was right next to the host and the queue to the restaurant. When we asked for a nicer table they seated us inside on a table that faced the entrance to the kitchen. The waiter seemed impatient when I asked about veggie options, and didn't want to spend time answering questions and seemed bored and disinterested in his job.The food came out and it was average to say the least. The ingredients didn't seem fresh. If I had to guess, they prepare all the afternoon tea sandwiches in the morning and just serve them during the day. The tea was average. There is a forced 18% gratuity.I strongly recommend you try other afternoon tea options.

The service and atmosphere were great but my complaint is on the website and phone it says breakfast is served 6-10 am I got there at 9:30 and they told me that breakfast is served till 10 for guests and non guests of the plaza breakfast ends at 9 . I said that's false advertising I ended up paying $467 for 3 people at afternoon tea so be warned now you probably can eat breakfast in the champagne bar which is in hotel lobby
