Incredible! Easy and relaxed dining. Amazing food - we had the mussels, pan-seared salmon, and braised short rib, then finished it all off with the flourless chocolate cake and the panna cotta. I'm getting hungry again just writing about it, LoL. Wonderful and very knowledgeable bartenders. And Peter! And live music most Friday nights!!!

Went here for a friend's birthday. Food was amazing and the service was top notch. The place is small so not recommended for super large parties but we were a party of 6 and we were comfortable. Highly recommend!

Our friends introduced us to this place and we’ve been telling everyone about it since! The owner, Pete, and our server, Ruth, were the perfect combination of attentive and respectful. Pete made great wine suggestions and Ruth helped us choose from the many fabulous dishes. The restaurant is gorgeous, everything on the menu is superior and the wines were delicious. Pete and his wife, Marni, provided a lovely evening and a great dining experience. Looking forward to going again soon!

Another great night at TPT. The meatball continue to be the best I've had in NYC which go perfectly with the nebbiolo. It is both light enough to have it on its own but has enough structure and tannins and acidity to up with a meal. If you're a fan of Italian food and wine definitely come by!

What a gem this place is! The atmosphere and the staff are very welcoming and warm. Starting from the delicious wine, I had the Bold Red Flight, I was instantly transported back to my homeland (Puglia, Italy) though the masterfully prepared dishes. Apart from the super fresh Burrata and Ricotta, imported straight from Puglia every week, I was in awe of the Octopus and Mussels and I had the Daily Special, the Pasta alla Norma, perfectly at dente! The dessert was such a treat too, I had the matcha tiramisu, that I absolutely recommend! The cherry on top was listening to the wonderful Marty Elkins and her musicians, who provided the most enchanting soundtrack to a perfect dinner!

came here on a Friday for Happy Hour. I walked in a week ago to ask to reserve a table for our group of 6 for happy hour, and they put me on Resy and told me that they reserved the couch for me. When I arrive on the day, they told me that they dont allow reservation for Happy Hour, I argued that they told me that i can have the couch and it was reserved. then they told me that the other waiter made the mistake, but it was on Resy for the whole week no one contacted me. in the end we had to sit outside because my couch was taken. it was a cold day, after 30mins we saw the couch empty so we moved inside after. It was a very unpleasant experience that they made a mistake but I had to take the hit.the food are mediocre and the happy hour menu definitely got smaller than people posted from before, not many choices for food or drinks. The owner was super nice, but i wish the other servers can step up their games. not my choice to come back again.Edited after saw the comment from the owner:no, we were rejected to be seated on the couch and we were placed outside because someone else took the couch. If the server told the owner it was reserved for me that’s a lie. The owner greeted us outside on our table and gave us sunflowers OUTSIDE. We only moved inside after the people on the couch left.

So grateful to finally try The Purple Tongue. The wine selection is excellent. The food is delicious with some unique choices. The atmosphere is beautiful. Jazz on a chilly Friday night was a beautiful bonus. Looking forward to returning soon.

I was looking for a place to eat before a show in Hell's Kitchen that would accommodate my no flour, no sugar diet and have something nice for my son too. This menu had several options to choose from including some small plates. I landed on the short ribs with the celery root purée and it was delicious. My son enjoyed the pasta veal ragu. Nice wine list and great service. For dessert he had some lovely matcha tiramisu and I enjoyed a cappuccino. Very nice place and friendly people too. I highly recommend it for a lovely evening.

This spot is unexpectedly cool, considering the location. The wine options are varied and exceptional, the service is amazing, and if you’re fortunate to garner Rufino as your bartender, count yourself lucky. He’s got great recommendations, a wonderful bar side manner, and the loviest personality one could ask for!
