My boyfriend and I spent 2 nights and 3 days here. We were supposed to get a double occupancy but because our ride dropped us off a few hours before check-in we got a different room with one bed but that's okay. We had the Central Park view. The people who worked at this hotel were nice and treated us well. Long story short I won an all-paid NY trip and the travel agent who was assigned to me chose The Ritz Carlton Hotel for us. Everyone who walked into the hotel was dressed nicely and you could tell they had money lol compared to myself and my boyfriend coming from the deep South of Mississippi we didn't own any business casual attire and the employees didn't treat us any differently. The bar in the hotel has great food and a shoutout to Manny who helped my boyfriend find a weed shop lol everyone was friendly. My favorite thing at this hotel was the showers the hot water felt amazing like I was getting a massage I never wanted to get out.Nearby activities: Central ParkWalkability: It's New York there's a ton of places to walk or get a horse ride from those annoying men at the corner offering you a ride every time you pass by.Food & drinks: The bar employees offered to remake my food I had ordered if it didn't taste right or if I didn't eat it right away and it got cold. I chose the Chefs Pasta (something like that)

Hands down the place to be, across central park, the concierge was awesome in booking a last minute tour at 9 pm to midnight across New York! Fabulous from time square to little Italy, Joes Pizza and much more! Rooms clean and staff always helpful with a smile and pet friendly. They also coordinated a carriage ride around Central Park. They made our stay memorable.

This hotel was not what I anticipated. While its location is undoubtedly prime, it didn't meet the Ritz-Carlton standards I've come to expect. The rooms felt small, with dirty windows, basic amenities, and some old-fashioned decor and furniture elements. The service was basic, lacking the attention to detail I've encountered at other locations. Moreover, given the quality, the price was steep. If you're set on the Ritz-Carlton experience in this city, I'd suggest exploring their other properties or considering a different hotel.Rooms: The standard room is a basic three stars hotel room. Nothing special about it.

Travel to NYC a lot and often stay at the JW Marriott because we love it there. We thought we would splurge and stay at the Ritz Carlton Central Park this time, bad decision. The room was nice and the doormen are fantastic but that’s about it. The lobby is small and not very inviting, and restaurant not very enjoyable. But the real issue is the front desk staff and manager. They were so rude to us, it almost ruined our entire vacation. You hear about the incredible service that these people are supposed to give it to you, but it was just horrifying and we will never be back.

In August we enjoyed a two week holiday in New York, and decided to stay at a couple of different places. Our first stay was at one of the old social clubs in Midtown, and the second at the Ritz Carlton, overlooking Central Park. In the past we have stayed at a couple Ritz Carlton hotels in other countries, and had great experiences at both, which is why we decided to book with them again during our New York stay. Normally you would think that the Ritz in New York would be one of the world’s premiere properties, with all that goes with being such a property. But such was not the case. Please read on. We arrived early, before a room was available, we were pleased to find that we could get an upgrade to a room with a view. We left two phone numbers where we could be reached when our room was ready, and then did some sightseeing around the city. 7 pm came with no call from the hotel, upon returning we found that our room was ready, but that they had forgotten to call us. This wasn’t too big a deal, as we were enjoying our sightseeing, but this is the first time that hotel promised to call us, and then forgot. The doormen at the Ritz in New York aren’t like in other countries, or even other parts of America. They don’t wear uniforms other than black polo shirts and black pants, there seems to be no dress code, and no standards for appearance. These guys could have passed for bouncers at a club, or tow truck drivers. And the doormen are often nowhere near the door, or, if they are, they are playing with their phones. This was a little surprising as the doormen at other Ritz properties were uniforms, don’t play with their phones, and are actually on hand to open the door for you. After a long day, I ran the bath for my 8-year-old daughter, and was surprised to find that the water was a rich brown color. Calling the front desk, I was told that this was normal, and that I had to let the water run until it was clear. I did this, but the water never got completely clear, and always had a somewhat yellowish color. One of the reasons we chose the Ritz was to have a bath tub, which is less common in New York than in other places. With the water looking the way it did, none of us wanted to use the bath tub, and were not especially comfortable using the shower, and using the water to brush our teeth was out of the question. I can’t believe that a hotel in one of the world’s great cities with a room rate of more than $1k per night can’t have clean tap water. We ordered a quick breakfast for our daughter, this was a plate of pancakes, a glass of milk, and coffee for two, which ended up costing $91. The club we had stayed at prior to the Ritz (besides having clean water), had a far superior continental breakfast which was $23 per person. The Ritz is not much of a value in regards to their restaurants and room service. Of course, in addition to the $91 we were expected to leave a tip. Oddly, the button on the phone to the front desk only works from 10 am to 6 pm. Other properties we have stayed at have a person on hand to answer the phone 24-7, and service is prompt. One would think the New York City Ritz Carlton would have higher standards. The room itself was excellent, the view was great. The bed, bedding, and pillows were comfortable. But the housekeeping was not very good. Used cups and glasses were not taken away, and when they eventually were, they were not replaced with new ones. The floor was never vacuumed properly, and things were not put away. Outside the hotel was not especially nice. Though it was great to be across the street from Central Park, the area around the hotel was not clean. The walkway in front was littered with cigarette butts and bits of trash, I found blood stains on the sidewalk a short distance from the entrance, and by the corner was a large bag of what looked like human feces, which was left to sit there during our entire stay. I am sorry to say that our stay at the Ritz Carlton was not worth what we paid for it. There are far better places with better services for a better price. The Ritz New York could be

What a disappointment. As a marriot titanium member I thought I might get a little thanks for my loyalty to the brand - but unless I wanted to pay an additional $420 a night for concierge level (that is on top of the $1000 per night price tag) I was not the guest this Ritz catered too. No coffee or iron in the room. Both windows had views of.alleys. The do not disturb sign was ignored 3 times and the housekeeping carts (2 of them) were parked (covered) in the hall way outside my room all weekend. There was no luxury in my NYC Ritz Central Park stay - from now on while in NYC - The Edition is an all around better luxury stay. Have not tried the NOMAD Ritz - maybe the newer hotel is better than the incredibly disappointing Central Park location.

My wife and I have stayed at quite a few Ritz Carletons in our lifetime. While this is a full service hotel it is quite small. Plenty to eat nearby and close to the park, but far from a full service hotel. Make sure you know what you are getting for your money.

Spent 4 nights here on a business trip Fall 2022. Would not stay again. The location is excellent, being right on the Park and walking distance to much of midtown. The lobby lounge is nice and a good place to meet people for a drink. This is where my positive views end. The hotel looks dated and my room was small and had no views at all. The price was outrageous for the quality of the product delivered. The Ritz used to have a premium brand name and I find ever since Marriott bought them, the brand overall has been degraded. This hotel in particular has a terrible price to value proposition. I am sure you and I can do better elsewhere.

Coming to New York after Covid. Great place to be in. Close to everything New York has to offer. Wonderful staff. Sparkling Clean Rooms. Great toiletries and amenities. Good inhouse dining and bar options. Getting around NY is tiring. The beds made up for the grinding days.

Amazing hotel with great views of Central Park. Our room was spectacular. As a Titanium Elite Member we were upgraded to a 1 bedroom Park Avenue Suite. It was absolutely stunning. The bed was comfortable and so was the living room area. So happy we decided to stay here! I was a little dissappointed as I called/emailed months ahead of time to see if there was anything that they could do complimentary for my husbands 50th birthday (cake, fruit, anything...etc...) and was told they would do something, but they didn't.

Me and my partner were touring america for a few months at the start of the year we stayed in the central park suite i had a cuban cigar to go with the orma, they gave us a little care package with some essentials. and the spa was like heaven and the bar was very classy, but overall i would recommend it and i would stay there again.

We have stayed in many Ritz Carltons around the world and this in our opinion has to be the worst run of them all. Read the poor reviews on here as they are very very true according to our experience today. The restaurant bar area is a complete rip off—how can you charge circa$40 for a croque monsieur—its 3 slices of bread, 2 slices of ham and melted cheese—how in gods name can you charge that?!! When sitting in the restaurant we could hear the kitchen staff swearing and laughing and joking whilst we were sitting in the restaurant, probably at the mugs sitting in their dining room. Dining room was also filthy—all tables were dirty and the floor as well. Complete amateurs who charge 6 star plus prices.

Just returned from an Easter Sunday light lunch at this hotel. No meet and greet at the restaurant/bar area so we selceted the table that was the least dirty and sat ourselves down. Our server came over and asked if we wanted water to which we said yes assuming that it was part of the "package"--San Pelligrino water turned up at $25 for a normal size bottle. We asked for a diet coke for our son--small glass $9??!!! We then ordered 2 ham and cheese sandwiches and a burger for our son--food arrives cold and inedible. we percivered as nobody came to check on us and I did not want to make a fuss in front of my family. We asked for the bill and were simply astounded at the shockingly ridiculous total of $198!!! Shocking food and even worst service topped off with simply crazy pricing--AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!
