I remember walking into the Sensuos Bean many years ago, actually decades ago in the late 80's early 90's and I fell in love. I remember the aroma of the beans as being so rich and intoxicating... I bragged for years and sent their coffee as gifts to relatives and friends. The taste was amazing, however that is in the past and I just need to move on. My experience now is, no aroma, no lift in the mornings, the flavor the beans is not the same, many times I don't finish my cup of coffee... I keep hearing the song in my head; "You've lost that loving feeling, now it's gone, gone, gone"... and so am I.

I don't know what happen to their beans of Dark Mexican and French Roast, I believe I was sent the past three months expired beans. They were awful, no aroma or taste from both and I am a long time customer well no longer. My patronage is done.

Interesting experience at this coffee shop. Upon requesting the “barista” to add a hole to my punch card, she proceeded to punch the hole into an already existing one. Very sneaky and gross. Not sure why she would do something like that over a free coffee. Also received burnt beans. This establishment is an overpriced coffee shop with mediocre beans and discriminatory practices. Gross!I’ll spend my money on expensive better coffee elsewhere.

Very friendly, allowed me to sit with my Assam while I took a break from exploring the Upper West Side. Fabulous coffee smell! Great tea too.

On our last morning in NYC our local family took us to a “special farewell coffee treat” and WOW! Sensuous Bean Coffee was the best way to end our amazing NYC Holiday Trip! Javier and Ali are fantastic, the epitome of Hospitality and service! Their coffee selection is top notch and the location is perfect, cozy and welcoming! We loved our Sensuous Blend coffee beans we brought back home to enjoy! Thank you Javier and Ali for a wonderful warm experience, and delicious coffee, we will definitely be back next time we’re in NYC! Highly recommended it, the locals are lucky to have this independently owned coffee treasure in town!

My daughter who lives in NY came to visit during Thanksgiving. She wanted me to try coffee from her favorite coffee shop. She brought home some almond joy flavored coffee, wow what a nice treat. It was good quality coffee with a hint of an almond joy candy bar. I'm not sure how they infuse these flavors but I am hooked.I checked their website and they deliver - I'm so excited to try their other flavors. I just wish we had a location in San Francisco.

I can confidently tell you this is a very loved coffee shop. I say so because, when I mentioned to the man helping me, that this was my first time here, several different people stopped me on my way out to stress how special this store is to them. I got a cup of hazelnut coffee and a canelé. It was a really nice hazelnut coffee, and the pastry blew my mind. I never had canelé before, but now I know!Great little shop, will definitely be back.

A little small but cozy. The smells were intoxicating. Great selection. Everything brewed to order. We came a little before closing so give yourself time to shop and sip.

Looking for a coffee, most places were full but here off the side street a place you can buy ground coffee but also doing their own ground coffee only for 2.50$ , and even some seats outside to enjoy it.

Stopped in for tea selections. Staff helped me decide. Picked the mango blast to take home. Smelled delicious. Purchase by the pound - 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, etc.

Just had to dump two coffees that were completely burnt. The bizarre barista had no idea what an almond latte was and served us SUPER OVERPRICED swill. Steer clear friends.

This place is a local staple and smells wonderful. Great character. Been there forever! Teas and coffees are unusual and delicious. My only complaint is charging $2 for ice and a cup. A hot tea is $3.50 but an iced tea is $5.50?! When I inquired they said because of the cost of the ice and the cup. But it’s just a standard plastic lidded cup, regular ice. And you get a cup with hot tea, of course, so cups should be included.$1 extra for each seems exorbitant.

Place always smells amazing, no doubt because of the million beans in there. Cute little tables outside to sit and drink. They're passionate about coffee, shows in the prices but they make a really nice iced or hot coffee.
