Shell is a neighborhood gem. The food is excellent. The staff is friendly and attentive. And the prices are reasonable. We've been there four times and sampled various appetizers and main courses, all of which have been delicious. We intend to go back frequently.

Our family had a lovely evening at shell . We were warmly welcomed and promptly seated . We ordered a variety of dishes calamari, Oysters, monkfish , salmon,shrimp. We loved them all ! It was our first visit to the Shell but it won't be our last !

Our family loves seafood and are frequent visitors to Spain, in fact our last visit was at the end of 2019 when we spent almost a week in Sevilla and another week in Madrid. We all love how Spaniards prepare seafood and when we cook at home we try to emulate them. Our favorite dish is Paella, it could be outside in Sevilla or in Madrid at Saint James juan Bravo. You are spot on when it comes to the dish, I can even get the crust on the bottom of the rice (sometimes) but I also put chorizo in which I know is a real infraction of the rules. We will certainly order again, and please give our compliments to the chef!

Great little spot on the UWS. The service was friendly and effective, and all the staff made us feel at home. Cocktails were tasty and well prepared, and the food was delicious! Started with the octopus and polenta appetizer followed by the paella and a swordfish special. Everything was fresh, and was cooked perfectly. As an unexpected treat: there was live jazz jam session from some very good local musicians. Will definitely plan to come back again!

Beautiful restaurant with nicely spaced tables. Great choices for all types of fish, and some non fish items. Most delicious burrata salad. The choices for dinner. Halibut over cauliflower mash, delicious. Tuna cooked to perfection. Special fish swordfish absolutely delicious. Pear tart for dessert. The service was friendly and professional . Highly recommend this restaurant.

JUST WOW Amazing food! Amazing service! Perfect atmosphere! First time here but I will be back!! One of the Best seafood restaurant in neighborhood.
We made an early reservation and to our surprise we still benefited from the happy hour and the standard food. My portion of tuna grilled my partner had pasta that he kept to himself. A shoutout to the staff who shouldered familiar customers as well as us. The chocolate ice cream and sorbets are excellent.

The Shell, is our new goto seafood restaurant on the Upper West Side! When that other, uber popular seafood and oyster place closed and moved further south, The Shell certainly picked up its game to fill the void. Their oysters are excellent, the seafood is fresh and delicious. One of our new favorites in the neighborhood!
Raw oysters top of yhe line. Mediocre steak with cold sides. Had to beg for bread. Musselswere fresh but flavorless. Mediocre desserts. (NY cheesecake and pear tart).

The entire restaurant was cold, regardless of where they seated us. The main entrance has no outside vestibule to block the wind, and a side door was often opened/closed creating a wind tunnel.

Very nice neighborhood restaurant, but the restaurant needs a HANDRAIL for entry and exiting. When we suggested this, the management seemed not to be interested. We hope there will not be any accidents!!
