Pub/sports bar atmosphere, very noisy. Not very warm.

The speakeasy is only for private events! The bartender mentioned it’s only open to the public on Mondays. The regular bar is more like a pub vibe, nothing wrong with that but maybe skip it if you were looking for a cocktail lounge

It's a cool looking place, welcoming, we sat at a high top. My wife and I shared wings, very good, quite a list of sauces! They were large and cooked nicely crispy and moist inside, also the side salad and cole slaw were very good as well. Another had a wrap which was reported as very good as well. Lots to pick from, we'd go back.

Great service, several choices considering it's bar food. 4 stars because it was very good but not amazing. Definitely recommend stopping in for a drink or an easy dinner.

Whilst we were in New York for a week we used The Gin Mill three times. It's in a great neighbourhood and the staff are really polite & helpful. They show Premier League matches and the food was lovely. As you'd expect the portion size was huge but the quality was outstanding. Prices were very reasonable but it's the staff who made the difference.

Stopped in the the Gin Mill on a Monday evening in January to check out the food and catch some free live Jazz in their basement. Got there right before first set around 8:30. Ordered a beer and some food and thought I would eat and then leave since there were like 30 people to see the show. The food came - the sliders were fantastic and the tater tots, while basic, were so generous that I couldn't finish them. I ate drank a beer and enjoyed some music. The music was starting to pick up and I was just about to leave..... Then the rest of the world showed up around 9:30 and before I knew it, it was 1:00 AM and after quite a few cocktails I needed to get to my hotel and get some rest before the business conference the next day. In short the food is pretty good; but the music and the fantastic mixologist they had behind the bar were terrific.

I hosted a huge party in the Speakeasy Room (200+) and I could not have had a better experience. The bar was incredible accommodating for the needs of my party and all of my guests had a fabulous time. I will use them again next time I host. I can't say enough positive things about these people and this place! EXCELLENT VENUE!!!
