Asked for 2 tickets and charged 3 and they didn’t accept refund… Bad customer service
Went during happy hour on a sunny Monday. It was full (not packed), no lines to get tickets — used to buy other items — and beer
The food, a bunch of sorted sausages, potato salad and a pretzel, were all delicious! That is, except for the chicken sausage, which didn’t really taste like much (lack of salt and of seasoning), though that’s nothing a bit of mustard can’t fix
A great place to have a conversation! Though, if it’s pretty hot, as it was the case, you may feel a bit uncomfortable. Perhaps get extra beers?
The food is amazing but it’s not cheap. Also - the bathrooms are so clean & nice. It’s a great lively atmosphere & the staff is friendly. I love the Standard :)
So so so many nicer places to get German beer. This place is designed for tourists who don’t know any better. Been here twice. Both disappointing. You can do better.
Food was mediocre, and one of the bartenders was very rude. Basically hissed at me that I needed to go buy a ticket at another station to use that ticket for beer. Very little German fare for a 'biergarten', oddly it was mostly french cheese, sandwiches and crepes.
The one saving grace is they had a decent tap selection, but still not worth the $24 for a large glass.
There are much better places to go both in this area, and generally in Manhattan which are both cheaper, better food, and more polite staff.
The one advantage to this place is it was almost dead inside with noone around, and they do not play music. So if you have a large group and have eaten beforehand, it might be a good place. Bring your coat though, because it is also extremely cold inside and some of the heaters are broken.

Literally would have 5 stars but the no music thing is actually insane. Put music in here and no one would ever leave. If you put music on RN I’d be thriving
There’s a ping pong table there and the atmosphere is great!

More fun than good.
My wife loves German food and loves biergartens. This is like the Disney of biergartens.
Look, the standard is a great restaurant and this is clearly the fun section of a restaurant that takes itself quite seriously. There are ping pong tables. People dressed in the German women's soccer team.
There's a weird system of buying tickets to get beer and food but you can also got to the bar to buy stuff without tickets.
The food is not great but I don't think that's such a big deal. This is clearly about people who like beer and the friends they drag along. And the occasional person wanting to wear lederhosen.
I had chicken wurst, which was not the worst but leaning in that direction. I also had the curry wurst, which seemed like the chicken wurst with curry sauce. And mustard. You know, if you're serving sausage with copious curry sauce and grain mustard on the side, you're probably not a gastropub. Just saying.
Okay, there should be a whole section about the restrooms here. They are odd. The men's and women's restrooms are poorly marked sides divided by a large common area. The central area has sinks with missing knobs and my wife complained about no locks on the stalls.
But it was fun.
Dietary restrictions: Wurst often has gluten. They were not certain. But there are sides of potatoes, pretzels, sauerkraut and such as gluten-free and dairy-free options.

10/10! I attended today for the Goaltoberfest w/ Bundesliga event and goodness, I couldn't be happier! The drinks are amazing. For NYC prices, I didn't expect them to hit the spot as well as they did! My bartender was extremely generous! I'm also a firm believer of "even if it's their job, let me make it easier." I asked a server if I should bring my empty glasses to the bar or what I should do with them, and she said she would never have me do such a thing and all she wanted was for me to sit and enjoy the match. That alone has me wanting to become a returning customer!

Great for an afternoon stein. Delicious seasonal beers & a cheap (Manhattan) way to order a Blanton’s neat. Mostly a great place for large groups or to catch up with old friends during happy hour, or to enjoy a loud and lively feel at night. Been multiple times; always an enjoyment.

Alexis was the best server. My friends and I (10 people) had an exceptional experience at the beer garden thanks to Alexis. Alan, also was the best, they’re amazing! and friendly demeanor made our visit memorable. Alexis helped us greatly, providing great recommendations and ensuring our drinks and food were served promptly (but the best) (she told the kitchen staff that 2 of us loved jalapeños). She had a positive attitude (probs from Long Island) and professionalism truly the freaking best of our time there (first time) Highly recommend asking for Alexis (and Alan is the goat)! Beasts.

Location is very attractively located under the Highline. You have to buy tickets for alcoholic drinks and food. Beer about $12, soda about $4.5.
The service staff at the ticket counter were very unmotivated and conveyed this with their monotonous facial expressions and the same tone of voice. The waitress wasn't the fastest (forgot about us) but at least she apologized.
Conclusion: Location ok, another visit - probably not
