They added $60 to my tab after I paid. I guess they didn’t realize I got a copy of the receipt, so easily caught they did. Needless to say I won’t be going back. And heads up to everyone else - make sure to check your receipt against your bank statement at Back Bar. Skeevy and gross behavior.

I booked a window table for our anniversary, and let me tell you, the view at night is absolutely magical! Our server, Marco, was fantastic—he suggested a cocktail I wouldn’t have picked myself, and it turned out to be just perfect. The vibe is both chic and romantic, making it a lovely spot for a special occasion. Yes, it’s a bit on the pricey side, but for such a milestone celebration, it was totally worth every penny to feel so special!

A staff member was snobby to me for no reason. You’re a bar in a glorified Holiday Inn, calm down. I was staying in the Kimpton for almost a week and after a long day out with my 4 year old I was wearing a t-shirt and shorts. Staff followed me into the restroom to ask what I was doing. The restroom sign pointed outside so I had been confused. I would have used my room but was dining at L’Amica. Maybe ask Omar over there how to treat people. Oh, the bar smelled like weed, the urinal stall was cracked and the urinal itself had trash on it. They definitely had no reason to be snobby.
Stopped by Back Bar on a Saturday evening, reservations in hand, but the place was surprisingly quiet. Located in a hotel lobby, the bar has plenty of space. We swung by for drinks only, ordering the Early Harvest and Lemongrass Daiquiri - both well-made. The staff was friendly. Decor was stylish, and prices reasonable. A solid spot for groups or dates, though not particularly memorable.

This little bar is the perfect spot for a coffee, a snack, or light lunch in the sometimes-bleak Herald Square area! Quiet and comfortable, Back Bar has comfortable seating and a calm ambiance. The service was excellent; timely, friendly, but unobtrusive. A much more gracious and pleasant meeting spot than the local Starbucks!

Back Bar at the Kimpton on 6th Ave is a hidden gem—totally unassuming at first glance but full of charm. The space has this warm, rich wood aesthetic that feels both elevated and inviting. When we went, there was a great mix of people—some working quietly on laptops, others clearly tourists or locals unwinding. The live music added such a lovely, elegant touch without overpowering the vibe. Cocktails are around $20, but they’re thoughtfully crafted and absolutely worth it.
Standout drink: the Green Apple Soda—a yogurt-washed Neversink gin cocktail with crème de pomme, Midori, lime, and soda—was refreshingly complex and totally delicious. Would definitely go back for a relaxed, classy evening.

Horrible experience here. Tried to order a cold coffee and the woman didn't speak a word of english, she gave me a cup of ice. Also terrible coffee and not at all worth the price
Good drinks, expansive menu of options, slow service
