The chefs are incredibly attentive, and the menu is full of creative, one of a kind flavor combinations you can’t find anywhere else. Every course bursts with freshness and balance, showcasing top-quality ingredients prepared with care. The experience feels focused and intentional—you’re there to enjoy the food, not get distracted with extras. Service is quick, the atmosphere is comfortable, and every visit feels like a treat.

Least accommodating service I’ve ever experienced at a high end restaurant. I had a reservation for the day I was flying in and my parties flights were cancelled. I asked if it were possible for us to shift our reservation to the next day since I saw openings on Resy that fit our party but was sent the copy and paste message of their cancellation policy and that due to a “high volume of reservations” they would not accommodate a shift in our reservation and would still make us pay the cancellation fee of 50$ per person. Never reserve here on a day of travel

Sushi is super fresh and very well prepares each piece had several aspect to it creating a balance of flavors in every single course. The drink menu has a variety of options and the very cozy dining room allows for each guest to feel like they are the center of attention.

Amazing Omakase Without the Crazy Price Tag

Thirteen Water is such a great find! For $75, you get 13 pieces of delicious, quality sushi—and honestly, every single one was a hit. The toppings were super creative (like garlic chips, roasted tomato, and even truffle), but everything still felt really balanced and fresh.

The space is cozy, and the vibe is chill and welcoming. The chef was super friendly, and the staff made the whole experience smooth. It’s a one-hour seating, but it didn’t feel rushed—just really well-paced.

If you want awesome omakase in NYC without spending $200+, this is the spot.

Each piece of sushi was meticulously crafted, showcasing fresh, high-quality fish that melted in my mouth. The chef's selection was thoughtful, offering a diverse range of flavors and textures that kept me engaged throughout the meal. What really made it a bang for your buck was that this level of quality often comes with a much steeper price tag. I've been to omakase restaurants where I've paid significantly more for a comparable or even lesser experience. This place managed to deliver an exquisite culinary journey without breaking the bank. It was a true testament to finding a hidden gem where exceptional quality meets surprising affordability.

Went here with a group of friends. Staff is nice and attentive. Overall the food was just decent. Some pieces were delicious while the majority was underwhelming. The quality of fish was also hit or miss. For example the raw shrimp was extremely slimy and the uni was a bit off. For $95 I can’t say it was worth it.

Similar to Shinn West, 1 hour omakase. Everyone sits elbows to elbow at the counter even next to strangers. Excellent price, highly recommend a reservation

I came here with a friend for an early dinner, and at $75 for 13 pieces, the price felt reasonable. However, the selection of sake and alcoholic beverages was quite limited. While the fish was fresh, the pieces were on the thinner side, and overall, the flavors weren't particularly memorable. The 60-minute time limit added a rushed feel to the experience, with pieces served one after another. It was an okay meal--not something I loved, but not something I disliked either. I probably wouldn't come back.

13 courses for less than $100!! I was so pleased with every bite. The restaurant was intimate and clean and located in the cutest area. The chefs and staff were so fast and professional - lots of attention to detail and really looked out for allergies and food preferences. Tummy was definitely happy after this meal :)

This place is a solid 3. I’d say about 2 pieces were memorable and interesting but that’s about it. They make sure you get in and out within 60 minutes unless you’re the last seating of the day. Price is fair but I was definitely not full. If you like fast omakase place with no interaction with the sushi chef, this place might be for you.

I’ve seen multiple posts online about how accommodating thirteen water is with allergies, specifically gluten allergies. I’m writing this post to let people know about their new policy. They no longer accommodate any allergy that cannot handle cross contamination, which is most allergies, especially if the need to be gluten free is because of celiac disease.

This is in no way a comment on the quality of their food. I’m sure it’s delicious - wish I could try it. This is merely to update anyone who may need allergy accommodations. Thirteen water should be removed from your to-visit list.

I made a reservation for next Saturday and tried to change it to the following Sunday on Resy. There was an issue with a system and my reservation wasn't cancelled and the reservation was made for the wrong date (the next day). As soon as I woke up I saw that the reservation was made for the wrong date and emailed the restaurant to explain what happened and to ask them to change my reservation to the following Sunday. I explained what happened and shared that this was a very special reservation for my cousin's visit the following weekend. One I'd been saving for to treat her to a nice meal. They refused to change my reservation and said no matter what they would be charging me the $50/PP cancellation fee. It was very confusing because my friends had said that in the past Thirteen Water had been very flexible with their same-day changes. I emailed them all day begging, my anxiety was through the roof and I told them I was really panicking. They didn't care. At 8PM they charged my card $100 I couldn't afford to pay. Now I can't take my cousin out next weekend. I don't understand why when I wanted to eat there.
UPDATE: Resy reached out to the restaurant to request they give me a refund based on issues with their system and I still haven't gotten my money back.

I would give it 3.5 if I could, it was a valiant effort but agree with another review, that this place still needs a little bit refinement. The fish itself is pretty good quality, but it gets over powered by a variety of flame broiled veggies they add to each piece. The flavor combinations are actually interesting but too much topping is added and it over powers rather than complements. Lastly the sushi rice was a huge disappointment, it was clearly an afterthought but it took away from the overall experience. That being said the salmon with tomato was a surprise and our favorite piece.
