As soon as we got in we got seated and the waiter just left then about 10 minutes later she came to give us water and asked if we were ready to order and started to walk away while we were trying to place our orders giving us no time to order drinks or anything. The waiter only came 4 times total 1 to fill our waters and place our orders 1 to bring us our food 1 to refill our waters and 1 to give us the check and we just felt so rushed and there was only 2 other tables. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and my meatballs tasted like they weren’t cooked all the way they were just mushy and gross and my noodles were definitely undercooked and they were super dry and the sauce didn’t help. My Mom ordered the risotto and it was not creamy it was crunchy and her words were “Gordon Ramsey would be so mad” we definitely will not be eating here again. Disappointed Italian lovers 😕

Very happy with our excellent meal at Trattoria Bianca last night.
The Beet Salad starter was fresh and well prepared. We loved it.
My wife had an excellent pizza - cooked perfectly and convincingly Italian.
I had the roasted Branzino. Cooked perfectly, very fresh and not too salty. Really an excellent fish.
We had a New York Cheescake for desert, and it deserved the name.
The wines by the glass could use a bit more work, but my glass of Pinot Grigio was drinkable (I believe the word is 'quaffable' from the movie Sideways). I would prefer an option for a Vermintino or Pigato with fish, but I realize that Pinot Grigio is popular.
The service was solid and attentive. The ambiance is greatly enhanced by some of the best Italian Drink posters we have seen (we spend many months per year in Italy).
Overall, we highly recommend Trattoria Bianca on 8th Ave.

Branzino was really excellent. Pizza was solid. Beet Salad was a jewel. Wine list by the glass is ok enough, not spectacular. Service was good.
Solo diners beware — they automatically add 20% gratuity without notice, and the service was subpar. Food’s okay, but know what you’re getting into.

When I was in high school, my trade school teacher talked to me about this restaurant. Now years later I found myself here! As if nothing changed after all these years.

I admit my fondness for this place openly. The taste lingered as I savored every moment with closed eyes. You'll enjoy the easy environment and friendly service. Restaurant workers show exceptional kindness. The menu is priced fairly for such good dishes.

Our food was above average and reasonably priced. We dined at 4:45 so it was quick. Our waiter wasn’t friendly at all but was attentive and good at his job. My main issue was some of the other staff. My son has severe autism. He is 11.5. He is happy most of the time and we refuse to deprive both he and his sister (who will be 14 soon) of life experiences because of his disability. But with that being said we dined at 4:45 pm to minimize other patrons and would leave if he became upset. At this meal he was in excellent spirits snd giggling somewhat loudly and stimming (flapping his hands). Two of the staff (not our waiter) stared unabashedly at him for several minutes. I mouthed to them “he has autism”. One of them repeatedly walked past us glaring and staring. I felt at times like a zoo exhibit and at others like I was being judged for a bad mom. The few other restaurant patrons didn’t even glance at us by the way; he wasn’t disruptive in any way. At any rate, I recommend education and sensitivity training for the staff so maybe in the future those with disabilities and neurodivergence won’t feel so badly about themselves and have their meals ruined on their New York vacation.

This restaurant is located inside a hotel. We are here on. Saturday night, before seeing a show on Broadway. Atmosphere, service, and food quality were mediocre at best. Our waiter didn't seem to have a great day as she seemed preoccupied and almost unfriendly. Both our pasta dishes were bland and overpriced.
The service was okay, but the food wasn’t great. I ordered a steak, and it was very dry. Also, they automatically added a 20% tip to the bill without informing me upfront. I usually tip voluntarily, so I didn’t appreciate the automatic charge. Because of these issues, I don’t think I’ll be returning to this place.
