Our waiter was pleasant, food was okay, service was rushed. I know turnover is good for restaurant but 30 minutes for dinner was pushing it.
We loved this restaurant . The margaritas and guacamole were great, and the food was outstanding....highly recommend.
Great rojo guacamole and queso fundido as staters. The ceviche was not our favorite. Margaritas were excellent. Tacos were okay but wished we'd tried a specialty entree
Everything was great but it's very off putting that they wouldn't allow me to be seated without my full party despite the fact that I had a reservation, am a long time customer and the place wasn't yet full. This is the first time that happened at toloache
We had an incredible time here! Loved the atmosphere but the food was off the charts!! We're still thinking about it the day after. Cannot recommend enough! We will be coming back!
Prickly pear margarita, always wonderful. From guacamole to queso fundido to avocado fries and lastly shrimp Toloache, an extraordinary meal! Enjoyed everything. One of my favorite restaurants in NYC
We went to dinner before a Broadway show. It's convenient and the space is nice, but the food is mid, at best. Some of it, such as the salsa, is as bad as a cheap strip mall. Other food, like the carne asada tacos, was fine. But it's pretty expensive and I'd recommend going elsewhere.
It was excellent service and food was delicious. location in theater district and directly accross from the subway where we got off the train. the vibe was festive and good outstanding. I would recommend fully!!!
Sometimes I hesitate writing a review for fear that if it's really positive the establishment will get too popular, and we won't be able to find a table there. This time was so good, I'm breaking through that hesitation. Tolache is our go to restaurant anytime we are in NY. The menu is really varied and interesting and the food is top-notch. I had the birria which was absolutely the best I've ever had. The queso fundido is yummy and very flavorful. The service is outstanding -- Michael was great...even the hostess, Frieda was charming. We had dinner there on the day we arrived and an unplanned brunch there the day we left. Gustavo, the manager both times, was incredibly attentive and gracious.
Food was amazing and service great. Even my kids enjoyed and i thought they would find it too unusual compared to suburban chain Mexican food.

Such a lovely pre-theater dinner experience - a pretty room, attentive service and yummy food. Highly recommend!
Great food with both normal and vegan/gluten-free options. Authentic Mexican flavors. Fun decor! Great for groups - there's a huge upstairs area. Just wish the food was organic, or that they at least had an option for organic/non-GMO corn chips. Nice selection of cocktails and mocktails.
TOLOACHE is my favorite Mexican restaurant in all of New York City, and it never fails to impress me. The contemporary Mexican cuisine is authentic, delicious, and expertly prepared by a team of elite chefs under the world class guidance of owner and celebrated Chef Medina. Additionally, their selection and preparation of margaritas, guacamole, and salsas are among the best I have ever had. I have been under the culinary spell of this restaurant for a number of years, and the enchantment continues.
Excellent all around. Atmosphere is traditional. Food is amazing and the wait staff very attentive.
I've been to this restaurant a few times and it's always excellent. The food, the service, it's a real find in New York in the theater district.
