We found Txikito through the NYC 100 Best Restaurants list, and it truly deserves its spot. This Basque tapas restaurant is warm, intimate, and feels like a little European escape tucked right into the city. I didn’t have high expectations since there is no hype for this restaurant, but the food is really good, especially the octopus and the croquetas. Totally recommend them.
They missed one appetizer that was ordered late, but besides that the service was good and the atmosphere was great.

The Arroz Meloso had such a unique flavor. This is a must order dish for sure. Pulpo (the octopus) was not only delicious but really nicely presented. Cochinillo was just melting in the mouth. The Gildas and Shishito peppers were just like the ones we tried in the Basque Country. Honestly, this place could easily stand out next to any popular San Sebastian spot.
