I cannot adequately describe how much I love this place. It is a calm, peaceful respite in a very busy part of the city. The food is ALWAYS good - I've never had a subpar meal here. Service is always great too. The Krokety is the best I've ever had - and - I can't believe I'm saying this publicly, but the Haluski is better than my family-made Haluski! Same with the Galumpki. Make sure you have an empty stomach when you visit so you can try all sorts of goodies...
Such a warm and authentic spot for Ukrainian comfort food. I always get the Ukrainian Combo Plate — stuffed cabbage, mixed pierogi, kovbasa, and kasha — and it never disappoints, every component is done right. Paired it with the horseradish infused vodka (served ice cold with a side pickle, exactly how it should be) and the herring, both excellent. Everything tastes homemade in the best way, the kind of cooking that's getting harder to find in the city....
Delicious. Huge portions. Wholesome vibes. Basement filled with smiling people. Could walk in on a Friday. HUGE menu. Something for everyone… including dessert pirogies. I liked the combo sets. I preferred the Ukranian combo over the east village combo.

If you are looking for wholesome, warm, Eastern European food, this restaurant is fantastic.

Great prices. Accepts credit card.
