They sat us with no reservation after we had another issue at another restaurant, and we were so happy! Our server was attentive, and the food was good!

What a difference five years make... A tremendously positive dining experience during this holiday season. Walking into Valbella is similar to entering a Winter Wonderland. Bright and spacious the comfort level here is high. Service is aware and friendly with the owner inquiring on your evening. Our menu choices were all winners. Our table of six shared "Vongole Oreganata' (baked little neck clams) and "Caprese" (mozzarella, eggplant, roasted peppers, tomatoes). Main courses included "Costoletta Burrata" a wonderful veal chop stuffed with burrata cheese. Two "T-Bone Steak Specials were prehistoric in size and flavor. Other winning selections included "Costoletta alla Capricciosa" - veal chop with tomatoes and onions and the Berkshire pork chop with peppers and sliced potatoes. Espresso and after dinner drinks finish off a fine evening...

TL;DR Convenient spot for dinner if you catch yourself in that area of midtown, but definitely would not recommend going otherwise. I should preface this review with the fact that this was a somewhat stressful business dinner that was under a bit of a time crunch, but nevertheless, did not have a good experience. Ambiance (2/5) - way too noisy. A lot of people here were for private events or happy hour, but it was nearly impossible to have a conversation; the indoor acoustics were just awful. Decor was beautiful and the outdoor tent area was quaint with fairy lights so bringing the rating up to 2, but it was so loud... also part of the room was high ceilings and spacious, well lit, and the middle of the room was really low ceiled and dim, which was really odd. Food (1/5) - ordered the squid ink pasta, which somehow managed to be too bitter, too salty and also too bland at the same time. It was served in a tomato sauce with seafood and arugula. The arugula was raw and way too bitter, wilted quickly and became slimy. The red sauce was way too salty but somehow the tomatoes were still sour, possible the salt was tossed after the fact. The octopus and crab meat were both mostly tasteless, suggesting they weren't sautéed or marinated beforehand. Service (1/5) - wait staff were fairly aggressive and while understandably loud, one of our party was speaking to the rest of us with a phone on the desk making a call. Wait staff still loudly interrupted him to take his order, and loudly interrupted him again to deliver our food. Still managed to get our orders mixed up. Prices (1/5) - understandably this is a place where most people are not paying for themselves, but still, asking for over $40 on average for a pasta dish of this size and caliber seems way too much. Definitely did not deserve this price. Would not come again.

Lovely outdoor dining. White table clothes. Well lighted. Clear cover over the outdoor dining area that protects you if it rains. Food and cocktails were very good.

Pricing far from the quality of the food. We ordered 4 dishes. Salad, fry stuffed, pasta and a cod fish (which was special and not on the manu). We were 3 friends - non of us felt like eating this fish. We didn’t want to send the dish back. When the bill came the price for the fish was 50 dollar. I wouldn’t pay even 20 dollar for that fish. Too much sauce, doesn’t fit well on the fish, the vegetables that served with were too dry and doesn’t cook well.Pasta was not bad, without any flavor, had to add salt and pepper so the food will have some taste. Those fry stuff were very basic, similar to breded cream cheese, fried, without spices. The salad was the only thing that was more than 2 stars. The server rushed us all the time, pick the dishes when we are still eating, gave us the bill before we asked for.The reason why I gave 2 stars and not one is that the food looks clean and good

Quality of food and service was excellent, though it was a bit loud. I think this owes to the more empty space in the restaurant, a lot of flat walls and high ceilings.I had the lobster appetizer with the Chilean sea bass entree. The lobster was great, breading was crispy and the meat was tender. The fish seemed a little bit dry but that is the nature of bass, and was countered excellently by a sort of tomato sauce and the steamed Brussels it was served with.

A lively outdoor vibe with a fountain with a good selection of dishes. The quality was good but not outstanding. It’s clear that many of the patrons are regulars. The prices are midtown high.

If your in the midtown area definitely check out this gem. The food is amazing and authentic, the vibe is elegant & chill. The service and staff are efficient and super nice not to mention the owner David is a man not from this time but a time where Chivalry is still alive and is so courteous & sweet. I had an amazing time. Will definitely be going back

We sat outdoors on a cool summer night and the ambience was relaxing with a waterfall nearby. The food was excellent and our server, Carlos, recommended amazing food, although most of the menu looked like you couldn’t go wrong. The cake for dessert was heavenly.
