..most definitely the finest Indian cuisine I’ve tasted anywhere in my life. Menu takes some deciphering, but does not disappoint. Unique new school twists on your all time old school favorites. Chicken Tikka Masala on the menu is called (Madame Makhani), so you won’t want to miss that. The Don’s Lamb Chops, Rogan Josh, some rice and the Coconut Naan will complete your order and leave you amazed. Desert selections are also in code the menu, but the Cardamom Culfi (Handcuff) is a sort of ice cream the pairs excellently with the Gulab Jamun which is called (Masquerade Ball). This place is a must visit if you’re in Manhattan, NYC…and don’t be intimidated by the menu, the waiters are more than happy to help you crack the code.
Best Indian food of my life. You need to get the coconut naan and the lamb chops. Don’t let the construction on the exterior cause you to miss this gem because it is AMAZING.
Amazing food and ambiance! The Pinot noir, the cauliflower and the salmon were fantastic
Ate during restaurant week, absolutely amazing food, atmosphere, and service without being ridiculously expensive. You can tell the staff are very proud of the work they do and for good reason. Will definitely be back!
The best Indian food I’ve found in midtown Manhattan! 10/10 would recommend! The Southern Bites, Rajasthani Sule were amazing. Perhaps my favorite dish of the night was the Anarkali chicken kebab. The Dal Makhani was so good I almost wished I’d ordered a second order to take home.
Such a great place!!
Great old school vibe, with incredibly flavourful well prepared dishes
Excellent. Chicken biryani extra spicy as requested. Delicious kabob chicken, spicy or mild. Naan on point. Great service.
The food at Veeray’s was absolutely divine! The elegant ambiance, thanks to the tasteful interiors, added to the whole experience. The staff was warm, interactive, and helped us pick the best dishes — which really made a difference.
My personal favorites- The Anarkali Chicken Kebab and Bhuna Gosht — both were packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The drinks were equally impressive and paired perfectly with the meal.
Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a classy yet cozy dining experience! 🍽️✨
Fantastic Indian food in an elegant Prohibition Era style. Come dressed up and ready for spices and flavors across the spectrum. The cocktails are based off the original cocktails from the ‘20s, classic and delicious. The quail, camel, and exotic meets are a must try for flavors you can’t get anywhere else.
Restaurantji Recommends
Veeray’s completely exceeded my expectations! Every single thing we ate was so flavorful and the drinks were classic prohibition era drinks made to perfection! We started with the GATSBY CHICKEN KEBAB, the ACHARI QUAIL, and the SAMOSA CHAAT. It was the great mix of starters before we started the main course of CAMEL SEEKH KEBAB, which was our first time having Camel and it was DELICIOUS. We had that along with the DAL MAKHANI and the Gobhi Taka Tin with this delicious Cherry COCONUT NAAN and every single thing was gone by the end of the night. The service was also great and very attentive, the owner Sonny was great and came over to check in on us. I can’t recommend this place enough! Come hungry and leave with a great memory of the 1920s in New York ambiance with amazing Indian food.
Really amazing experience at Veerays! The food and service were both really great. We really appreciated how accommodating they were of us moving around our reservation due to our flight being delayed. Some standout dishes were the Gatsby Kebab, Shrimp Ambotik, Dum Goat Biryani, the Rosemary and Mint Paratha, and the Killer Cake. We also ordered the Samosa Chaat, Prohibition Bhaji, Bhuna Gosht, Olive Garlic Naan, and the Out On Parole panna cotta, all of which we really enjoyed. As an Indian family that doesn’t love a ton of spice, we thought everything was perfectly spiced so that there was a little heat but still very enjoyable! Highly recommend this place for a cool speakeasy theme and great food and drinks!
Very much trying to fit the prohibitions speakeasy theme, the entrance is very nondescript lacking any signable. Only hint was the club like corridor within. The dark discreet atmosphere is on point, though no one came dress the part.
The menu offered some exotic items like camel kabab and pheasant along with an extensive cocktail selection. Alas the portions are a bit small for the cost. Interesting experience, but just doesn't quite click for me.
The decor is like a speakeasy and that I am not sure goes well with Indian dining.
The menu was too heavy with meat options and vegetarians (us) had very limited choice for an Indian restaurant.
The service was great and the wait staff were excellent.
The appetizers tasted great. But the vegetarian options seemed bland and may not have gotten full love from the chef
What an amazing dining experience we had at lunch today! My bf and I are Indian food junkies, and this was the best Indian food we've ever had!
From the atmosphere, to the service, to the food and personal attention from the owner, Sonny, I would highly recommend Veeray's! Great hidden gem in mammoth NYC!
