great food BEST NACHOS EVER

Second weekend in a row! The food was excellent with the exception of the mac and cheese; it needs some work! We had reservation for two and had another person joined us at the last minute and the restaurant was able to accommodate. I appreciate this restaurant and making our visit to New York wonderful. Unlike it's other restaurant; Carmine's where I tried for two weeks to get reservations for and could not, but another party of 10-11 was able to walk up and get a reservation that were traveling with us. Although, I was glad they got the chance to experience it, it was disappointing that we did not.

Fun dinner before a show. Large portions. Love the ribs. Perfect martini from the bartender.

You definitely will not be disappointed. The food was delicious and the other tables look delicious as well. I will definitely be going back!

Two issues. I posted a review on this visit ot Virgil's right after we dine there. Because my phone number was posted with it, the restaurant called me within hours, apologizing and asking me to return. They called while I was working and I told the caller I would consider their offer, but I was at work and could not talk. She said she would call back the next day. Didn't happen. My original comment was that the food isn't what it used to be. The quality is not the same. The serivce was so-so. Whiel Virgil's had been a favorite for many years when in NYC, the food quality issue will keep me from returning. There is no reason for the restaurant to contact me about this follow up review.

I've been coming here for about 20 years, and introduced a friend to Virgil's this time. He loved the vibe and the food, and we had a really on-point waiter, while I got to indulge in the beers you can't find everywhere in NY (even if it's been a long time now since Virgil's carried Dixie, which got so hard to bring North after Katrina and the pandemic). The one real ding is that the place has now introduced karaoke, and just the amount of audio feedback from the mike the DJ used intruded on the meal.

This is the first time we came as open table the service was poor we waited over an he for our food to come out our waiter was rude short and did not explain well and he didn't tell us that I was paying for the water he seemed like he hated his job he wore a mask and for what reason he did not wear it properly he might as well not wear one especially if we can't understand what he's saying also the food was different than what we catered for a birthday I was really disappointed I was going to come back with friends next week but after last night I'm canceling my reservations and fyi I still left a 10 tip my bill was 127.00 I paid over 1000 for the catering in October but they won't be getting my money anymore.

Best BBQ ever . Everything we had was absolutely amazing. Baked beans are the best in the world

With this restaurant being so close to Times Square, we were seated right away. The waiter was friendly and very helpful, and the food was great, but due to the location, it was very pricey. Overall, this place is worth a try. Make sure you get a loan from the bank.

This was an order for takeout.
The cornbread was awful.
The chicken looks ugly but taste decent.
The collard greens were undercooked and tasted like vinegar. Also, they lied because there's no way they put ham hock in it.
The pie was old.
The macaroni and cheese was disgusting worse than kraft.
Thank God they didn't put the barbecue sauce on the food and had it on the side because it was absolutely revolting.
The pork ribs were tough.
The beef brisket had a nice taste but it was mostly fat.
The pulled pork was decent.

I’ve ordered pick-up from this location three times, and unfortunately, each time, my food has been cold—even though I live just one block away. This consistent issue has left me feeling disappointed, as I was hoping for a better experience given the convenience. It’s starting to feel as though the quality of service might not be the same for all customers, which is deeply concerning. I sincerely hope this isn’t the case, as I believe in supporting local businesses that treat all patrons with equal respect. I hope the management will take this feedback seriously and make improvements to ensure all customers receive their food fresh and are treated fairly.

food is fine ad usual, but ordered from virgil's and carmine's first time in a couple years and was absolutely shocked at the price increase! the eggplant parmigiana price increased while the portion decreased more than 50% and put as side or appetizer. wtf!
