Virgil's Real BBQ - Upper West Side

A great place, great food and great people. This place is a "sister" restaurant of Carmine, both has great service

Service très sympathique mais trop « présent » (une fois servi, j'aime manger tranquille sans qu'on me pose 5 fois la question « est-ce que ça va ? »).

Virgil's has always been a favorite in midtown, however yesterday's meal was "ok", not at the level I've come to expect.

Amazing servers, really friendly, food was amazing quality and plenty of it, great choice of drinks.

The food was good, but there was some type of Taylor Swift event going on upstairs or right next door. It was too loud to hear the server or people at my table without literally yelling. That ruined the whole experience for me.

We chose this restaurant before going to a see "Wicked". Fast service and the food was so good. We choose the carolina bbq with coleslaw and beans. I didn't want to pay $15 for hush puppies but I did- do it!! Do not hesitate!! They were the best I've ever had!! The service was delightful from beginning to end!

Easy to make a reservation, seated quickly. Its a lively place with a lot of energy on a Saturday night. Service was excellent from the front door greeters to our waitress all were very positive and helped make it a good experience. Food was decent - both of us had the pulled pork plate which comes with 2 sides. The pork was pretty bland and room temperature but was helped along by the 3 flavors of BBQ sauce on the table. For sides the standouts were the cheese grits and the baked beans. I would go again but try some other entree choices.

The waitress was absolutely great! Even as she was training a new hire she still had great service! Good was awesome and just a good vibe all around! I would give it a 10/10!

My second visit and once again I was met with fantastic service. The portions are decent but I really think it's the hospitality that brings me in.

Food was alright. Chicken and pork both very dry. Brisket was best. Service from Lenny was very attentive.

My experience at Virgil's was great. The waitress was very attentive and made us aware of what foods to avoid due to our allergies. The staff made me feel very welcomed. I was able to watch my football game too. I will be back Virgil. And the food and drinks were delicious.

This was my first experience here at Carmine’s & Chris R. was very attentive and kind ! Will come back again soon!!! Great service.

This is a Take-Out ONLY. There is NO sit down restaurant or tables of any kind for Virgil's here. You can only order food to take-out or delivery. This is a small walk-in counter attached to Carmine's Italian restaurant.

Many of the pictures are misleading, they must be either old or from the Times Square location. Virgil's needs to update this listing and the pictures to reflect what this location is.

I traveled about 45 minutes on the subway based on the google listing and high reviews to eat Virgil's and avoid Times Square crowds. Sadly, I could not eat here since this is Take-Out only with no seating and had to find another restaurant nearby.
