As a NYC local, this restaurant has remained my #1 for the past few years. Menu options will pique curiosity for little-known Austrian cuisine fundamentals, and then pleasantly blow your expectations out of the ball park. This is my #1 NYC restaurant and my #2 in the world.
The dishes taste like they were made just for you. The dishes were expertly handled. The team at this place is large and uniformly friendly. Limited capacity doesn't diminish its popularity. Wallsé delivers exceptional quality.
Classy without being pretentious. We hadn’t been here for some time and were happy that it’s just as great as our last visit. We started with some tasty cocktails (the tomate and the gurke), the heirloom tomato and peach salad, and chicken liver mousse. We both had the Weiner schnitzel for mains and finished with apple strudel and elderberry panna cotta. If I wanted to be really picky the panna cotta could have been a little more jiggly but I truly couldn’t fault anything...
