The Hainan chicken is exceptionally fresh, juicy, and tender. The pairing with soy sauce and ginger paste is simply divine. I’m a picky eater, and my boyfriend, who is a picky Cantonese eater (meaning he has high standards for chicken), and both of us agree that their chicken is excellent.

Went with a party of 6 without reservation and got seated within 15 minutes! The service was fast.
We got a bunch of dishes, but the highlight was the stingray. SO DELICIOUS. I've never had stingray before, so I was a little intimidated going into it, but it was incredible. Please try it!
I offered to pay and even tipped the balance but the waitress demanded I tip even more. Considering that tipping is already optional, I never had someone point at the receipt and ask for even more tip and eventually pressured us into tipping more. Overall a very disappointing experience and very rude coming from the staff. This experience was the tipping point and I would not be returning, would not recommend either,

Service was amazing! Food was amazing and they gave large portions for food prices. Definitely recommend to those who enjoy Malaysian cuisine.

severely underwhelmed to have received roti kanai when I opened the box like this. this was $6.95? I'm unsure if the 1/2 hainanese chicken we ordered should have also included a box of chicken rice like other resturants, but we didn't receive that either. 2.5 dishes for $45 was not worth it given the meal we received tonight.

My favorite spot in chinatown, the curry over rice is top notch!

We ordered three dishes and one appetizer. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The Hainan chicken tasted like plain warm boiled chicken—completely lacking in flavor. The curry bread, which we used to enjoy, wasn’t as good as it used to be. Overall, the food quality has gone downhill, and we didn’t even finish our three main dishes because they were that bad.

Tried this place hoping for a comforting bowl of noodles, but I left completely disappointed. The noodles themselves were overcooked and mushy, with no bounce or texture—just bland and lifeless. The broth didn’t help either; it was oily and flat, missing that rich, layered flavor you expect from Malaysian cooking. Even the toppings felt like an afterthought. Got home thirty to dead! I’ve had better instant noodles at home. Definitely not worth the hype or the price.

Highly recommend! The food was absolutely amazing and the staff was wonderful. We had a table of 10 and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a variety of options which you can choose from according to your liking. I loved their sweet sour pork and haiwanese chicken. Definently give this restaurant a try

The roti chane was best part of meal I would say. The rest were medium good. The place has been around forever and is quite authentic but we found that the quality has gone down slightly and food is hit on greasy and over spice over oiled saucy side. Staff are great and friendly. Prices are bit high but it’s New York!
