This was once a Chinatown icon that couldn’t be missed. Now, everything reek of unpleasant, artificial, chemical flavors and phony, unappetizing colors. The lines are just as big, so I guess they can just get away with selling cheap garbage.
Huge selection of flavors, unique and very representative of AAPI culture. I definitely recommend you stop by and try a few.

The Original Chinatown Ice Cream Factory is a must-visit spot for ice cream lovers. With a vast selection of unique flavors, customers can try before they buy. Favorites include ginger, lychee, coconut, taro, black sesame, almond cookie, Vietnamese Coffee Ice Cream, and Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream. The vintage-style shop maintains its original look, adding to its charm. It is a tiny place that can be challenging to get in and out of, but it is definitely worth it. The ice cream is homemade, packed with authentic flavors, and served in a cozy, family-run spot. Visitors often enjoy trying samples of the unique flavors, such as Black Sesame and Lychee Rose, which are very creamy and delicious. The shop also offers merchandise like t-shirts, hoodies, plushies, and pins, making it a fun place to browse. All staff members are friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Seasonal flavors like dragon fruit and taro are highly anticipated, and the fresh, natural taste of flavors like lime sorbet makes this place a true gem for dessert lovers in NYC. Be prepared for cash-only payments, although Venmo is now accepted. Whether in summer or winter, this spot remains an essential destination for ice cream enthusiasts.
