Really truly the best black and white cookies. I got a box of the minis there on Halloween eve and shared it with the kids. They packed it very nicely with paper between so nothing stuck together. But they were eaten quickly.
I recently visited after my mom told me some family lore about William Greenberg’s. Apparently, in the 60s and 70s, my grandma used to fly with boxes of their treats to Puerto Rico upon request of a friend that used to live in New York. It seems like every New Yorker with generations of lore has something to say about William Greenberg’s. My neighbor says it’s where his mother bought his Bar Mitzvah cake and says that he sends their famous chocolate cake whenever the occasion...
I have been going to Greenberg’s since I was a child :) their location in GV was my favorite:)
The pastries are as delicious now as they were back then :)
