A Disappointing Step Back in Time at Wolfgang, NYCI recently visited Wolfgang in NYC, expecting a modern and sophisticated dining experience. Unfortunately, what I encountered was a step back into a bygone era that no longer resonates with today's vibrant food scene. The ambiance was immediately off-putting, with a stuffy atmosphere that felt more like a relic of an antiquated business model than a high-end restaurant in one of the world’s culinary capitals. The drink menu seemed as though it had been curated by someone whose palate hasn't evolved in decades, offering limited and uninspired choices that failed to excite. The food, sadly, was just average at best. In a city celebrated for its dynamic and innovative cuisine, Wolfgang fails to leave an impression. This disappointment was deeply felt, especially having recently immersed myself in "Unreasonable Hospitality" and attended a workshop on the pioneering service at Eleven Madison Park. The contrast between the progressive hospitality there and my experience at Wolfgang was stark.Adding to the dismay was the service. The all-male staff, an outdated practice in itself, did not help their case. My waiter was rude and impatient from the moment we first interacted, which immediately set a negative tone for the evening. His inattention escalated when he had another waiter step in to assist, further demonstrating a lack of dedication to providing a seamless dining experience. For those seeking a culinary adventure that is as delightful to the palate as it is invigorating to the spirit, I suggest looking beyond Wolfgang and exploring other gems in NYC.

Go to the authentic Wolfgang Steakhouse.I had a steak in an open restaurant.Although it was lean, it was soft and delicious. The service was also great.I would like to visit again when I go to New York.We went to the authentic Wolfgang's Steak House. We had steak in the open-air restaurant. It was lean, yet tender and delicious. The service was also excellent.I would like to visit again when I go to New York.

Tasty steaks but not worth $75 a pop. Salmon was...well salmon. Bland mashed potatoes. Steak fries tasted like garden variety diner fries. Chicken soup looked and tasted like it came from a can. Dissapointing.

Their steaks are very delicious. The cooking level is good and the portions are quite filling. I think it's because the place has high ceilings, but it seemed very noisy to me.The waiters are also attentive. However, when they brought the bill and realized that we were tourists, the waiter reminded me about the tipping incident, which I found extremely rude. It's an extremely shameful thing. Maybe tourists don't tip, etc., but reminding a customer to tip is extremely rude. You already suggested it in the ticket, why are you saying it verbally? For this reason, I reduced my overall score to 3.

I'll never go there again.Seats are separated for people of color, including Asians, and white people. The waiters are very rude and serve plates like they're being thrown. The worst waiter who never smiles. Wouldn't it be better to have better education? Even if the food is good, the atmosphere makes it taste bad.The young woman at the reception was also engrossed in her smartphone, with her face on the top of her head.Thank you for the meal.

Easily the best steakhouse in NYC! I ate at wolfgang’s many times and in all of their restaurants in Manhatten. They never fail, no matter which one you go to! The Fillet Mignon or the Porterhouse with German Potatos and Asparagus are my usuals!

It is one of the best steak restaurants in New York. Everything was literally perfect. The temperature and the softness were awesome. I want to feel the taste again. Also, the servers service was great. Everyone was kind. If I have a chance to visit near again, I would definitely consider visiting Wolfgangs steakhouse again. One thing is that it was a little bit expensive. I spent $100 for each person.
