Oh! Taisho is one of our “won’t miss” spots in NYC. We always grab a seat at the bar near the entrance it’s the best place to watch the cooks in action and take in all the energy of the open grill. The staff is always so attentive, and the food never disappoints. From sizzling yakitori to comforting ramen, everything is full of flavor. A cozy, bustling spot we keep coming back to again and again.

I’ve visited Yakitori Taisho twice now, but this is the first time I’m sharing a review. This latest visit was unforgettable, with the star dishes being the salmon cream yakisoba and Okaka Onigiri. The creamy, savory yakisoba was a rich delight, and the Onigiri had that perfect balance of salty and umami that left me wanting more.

I love this place. I’ve been to Japan before, and there are elements of this place that reminds me of an Izakaya located directly in Japan. The staff are friendly and speak Japanese, whether they are Japanese or not. And the food is really good. Known mainly for their Yakitori, Taisho also has an extensive list of other dishes on the menu that deserve some love and attention from customers as well. This is one of my go-to spots when I’m in the area…
