Warning: 18% tip will be added to your total price if you don’t pay attention to the breakdown.
Me and my 2 daughters which is a party of 3 just had our first meal in NYC here today.
We tried to play a bill guessing game and we all were wrong.
To our surprise, our receipt came with a tip of $24.56 added to our total.
I work in the service industry. I completely understand the importance of tipping.
But you cannot take tip without the customer’s knowledge. No post, no sign, no label; absolutely no disclaimer whatsoever. When I asked why did I get charged a tip or how did I get charged a tip, the female server had no other explanations but kept insisting it has already automatically added. I came to the front and questioned this business motive again. The male server tried to explain. Sir, I get it that some people under tip but there are others that over tip. At the end of the day or maybe the cycle, it will balance out. Give or take it’s still the service industry. But you cannot take it without asking and expect a win win out of every ticket, everyday.
Taking without knowledge or consent is not an honest business transaction.
I did not write the tip. I was charged the tip for a party of 3 without knowledge.

Our first meal in NYC ended in confusion and disappointment.

Great place. The whole ducks in the windows caught my eye. Really friendly people and plenty of room for dining.

Bad service, rude server, and he doesn’t know how to treat customers well. Not recommend for the others who want a good service. They weren’t welcoming, no smile, no kindness. The restaurant was almost empty, we were in 5 but just the 3 of us was ordering and the waiter was rude when he found out that 2 more people are just seating. After this we changed our mind, so we asked for to go and he stand us up to clean the table and made us waiting a long time while the restaurant had still a lot of empty tables. And he didn’t ask us politely, he just sent us to the cashier with a really bad attitude.
Such a bad experience

These people who work in this restaurant just don't know how to treat people. It's just 0 kindness. Shaking my head. Couldn't believe how do they hire these types of people. Super super rude!

Extremely fast service, reasonable prices, and the best BBQ over rice dish in Chinatown. Better than Big Wong, Ming Wong, Wing Wong, and *much* better than Wah Fung (don't wait in that line, it's not worth it).

The roast pork, duck, and chicken are all very tender and well seasoned, and the sauce they drizzle over the rice is delicious.

The food is good and that's about it.
The tip is already added in the bill instead of letting customers choose. The staff acts as if they don't understand English, but they most definitely do.

My first and always come back when in Chinatown stop. I always see lots of Chinese and Eastern Asian patrons in it, which, to me, means the place is authentic enough.
