We had a pre-theater dinner at Bistro 44. The decor is quite cozy, dim lighting, old world NY vibe and leaded glass accent window. Service was excellent as was the food. We enjoyed the Crab cakes which were delicious-lots of crab and little breading wit great flavor. the tuna tartare was fresh and light served with a homemade guacamole. I had the seafood risotto which was likely the best I have ever had. Loaded with lobster, shrimp and mussels. This dish was a wonderful surprise of flavor and crustation. My husband had the short ribs which made him smile. The meat was very tender and moist just falling apart with the touch of a fork. We have been to this lovely spot in Northport a few times and we continue to return. Food and Service have always been very good.

Had my birthday lunch there today. I had the delicious skirt steak sandwich with french fries. Their cab sauvignon by the glass is so good that I had two! Tablecloths and mood lighting even for lunch- that's my kind of place. Cozy little booths. They surprised me with a piece of cheesecake w/ a candle and sang happy birthday to me! I will be back here for dinner with my husband! Everything was so delicious and spot on! Thanks so much for a grrrrreat birthday!!! ?❤️

Been coming here for over 10yrs, never a bad meal. Great versatile menu with lots of options and always fresh. The staff is pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. Great ambiance and even better during the Summer when the courtyard opens up.

Excellent restaurant on Main Street, excellent prompt service, food came out quickly, presented well, and very well prepared. One of the nicest restaurants in the area but be advised that it is expensive. Dinner for two with no drinks, two soups, two entrees, two desserts and two coffees with tip set me back $183....Guess I'm just not used to the higher prices these days......

This restaurant is always outstanding. No matter the day of the week or the hour, you can always be assured of an excellent meal and fine service. It is beautifully appointed, taking advantage of its historic age As you may have surmised, I heartily recommend Bistro 44.

Had an amazing seafood risotto dish!!! There was a great deal of meat and it was perfectly cooked!

The menu choices were wonderful. We dined on a Saturday night and the dining room was very noisy. Our waiter was slower than we expected but the food was delicious. Large portions given.

What a wonderful experience at Bistro 44. Would have given ambience more stars if I could. Cozy, intimate dining. My tuna tartare one of the best ever, had the lobster over spinach ravioli. Excellent. Husband had the duck. Service was attentive without being intrusive. We will return for sure

We really enjoyed our dinner this past Sunday evening. As we waited for the other couple, we ordered wine and it was delicious! We asked the waitperson to see the bottle and she graciously held it so we could snap a picture. We then ordered dinner which was delicious with generous portions. The kitchen accommodated one person who has shellfish allergies and also is a vegetarian. She really enjoyed her pasta primavera which was not on the menu!

Service: Very Good Apps: Excellent Thai Calamari and Mussels Entrees: Generally good, but seemingly overpriced for the quality. Lacking that punch that could set them apart from other local venues. Value: A bit overpriced for entrees but apps and drinks were on par

Food was very mediocre and not up to the Bistro's usual standards. For example, we ordered the squash salad as an appetizer and it came out with no squash in it. As it was a holiday evening, it is possible that the regular chef was off. Disappointing, but likely a one-time experience.

Overall it was fine for lunch and the menu looked promising. I don't think they delivered on the promise of the menu though. Have to question why they would deep fry crab cakes and a risotto bed or overpower a salmon dish with tons of red beets. Thai calamari app was very good. Service was also very friendly and attentive. Agree with a prior reviewer's comment on the heavy slamming front door being somewhat annoying. Had the feel of a good local place with some interesting options. Convenient to harborside too.

We sat in the alcove near the front windows, had to listen to the loud pounding noise from the front door every time someone arrived or left the restaurant. Apparently there was a problem with the door's ability to close quietly . Wasn't a pleasant experience.

Dinner was so delicious Christmas Eve I returned for my birthday to try other items on the menu then back again New Year's Eve We had Christmas penne aka vodka ceasar salad chicken francese and calamari so so good. It was loud but the restaurant was packed. My birthday had bolognese would have this again so good. And New Year's Eve had the Marsala . You will not be disappointed. Service amazing and very friendly.

Food was phenomenal, the service was some of the best that my wife and I have ever experienced. Our waitress Gina took care of us every step of the way. We celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary and had a little gender reveal, Gina celebrated with us and gave us an unbelievable experience. Goes without saying that I'll be back not primarily because of the food, but because the staff lead by Gina made us feel right at home! 1,000,000 stars!
