My mom and I grabbed some coffee here on Friday afternoon and were very happy with what we got! Our two small lattes with regular whole milk were absolutely perfect. There wasn't even any need for sugar because the coffee was so smooth and rich, not bitter at all. The lattes were also hot but not scalding, so we could drink them right away. Inside, the shop is very bright and lacks any kind of seating area (apart from a bench by the window) because it's not so much a cafe as it is a grab-and-go coffee counter. This didn't bother us since there are many places to sit down by the water, but still it's something to be aware of. The baristas were super chill and had our drinks ready in no time, even with the growing line of people waiting for their afternoon coffee. Next time I'm here, I'm definitely buying a bag of coffee grounds to brew at home. This is such a lovely and efficiently operated place to get great quality coffee. And quite possibly the best cup in northport!

It's very good. VERY GOOD...when it's good. When they get busy the lattes and egg sandwiches may come out cold unfortunately. Consistency isn't great. And it doesn't exactly vibe as a "feedback is welcome" kind of place. Which is a little rough at the restaurant prices. Beat the rush and you'll get a delicious egg sandwich and a delicious latte. Very convenient!

Was staying the weekend close by and was on the hunt for some good coffee! This was one of two options I found on Yelp and decided to try Southdown first. And I wound up never trying the other place because Southdown was so good I came back the next day. The employees are super friendly and the storefront is quaint. Yes there is no seating but take a short walk to the waterfront and enjoy your coffee there or walk through downtown. They have wonderful homemade syrups. First day I had a vanilla latte which was excellent. The next day I had the maple latte which was amazing! We also tried their muffins and breakfast sandwiches the next day as well and they were equally yummy. Highly recommend Southdown if you're in the area!

Always great, quick service, such friendly, professional staff and great vibe. Best coffee on Long Island. Love coming here so much, try the chickpea salad sandwich, avocado on toast, and iced oat lattes. When there's a line, it moves really quickly as the staff do such a fast paced job. This spot is a such great addition to the hidden gem village of Northport. When I moved here from Brooklyn, the only thing missing was a legit coffee shop, then Southdown arrived. I don't often leave Yelp reviews, but it's just a small thank you to the great team there, that make my day more efficient, friendlier and happier. Thank you!!!
