My boyfriend and I have passed this cute restaurant many times, but yesterday was our first experience eating there. We came on a Sunday for a late brunch and there was lively gospel music playing and also a live guitarist. The atmosphere is homey, comfortable and inviting. We went in blind and ordered the fried chicken dinner and the BBQ dinners with potato salad and greens. We also ordered a side of mac & cheese. The house provides biscuits and muffins drizzle in honey and syrup. These were served warm and they were delicious! The dinners we had were absolutely phenomenal! 10 out o 10. The portions were also very generous. We were moved by the food and could tell that they were prepared thoughtfully with love and care. Everything was beautifully seasoned and flavorful. This place is a hidden gem and can easily compete with some of the heavy-hitter soul food restaurants in Harlem like Melba's. Melba's is one of our favorites, but My Father's House is on par or surpasses Melba's in certain respects. We were delighted to meet the chef and owner of My Father's House named Adrian. She was absolutely delightful and greeted us so warmly. I learned that she is a preacher and a teacher and has opened up the restaurant in honor of her late father. You can feel the love and sincerity in this establishment. We will definitely be back and inviting others and recommending it to others! We also sat next to a beautiful Asian family who was dining there for the first time along with us and they also said they absolutely loved the food. 10/10! Can't wait to go back!

Delicious food and friendly service. Eating here was a wonderful way to start out a nine day road trip.

The food was amazing, the service was even better, and the owner makes you feel like part of the family from the moment you walk in. If you don’t order the chicken and red velvet waffles, you’re playing yourself.

We picked the locations because it was centrally located for a group gathering. Everything was excellent. Such an amazing and quaint place. The live music on Sunday was perfection. We will most definitely be back.

I recently went to dine in for dinner an hour before closing and was told that they were closing early and I could only get takeout. They gave me large portions and the food didn’t taste bad but it was so SALTY that I couldn’t enjoy it. Especially the hush puppies which were also raw in the middle. I ordered a slice of cake ($10) which would have been delicious if it was not stale. I think this place has a cute vibe and I’m not giving up on it yet but they need to tweak their seasoning and make sure the desserts are fresh

Good food with reasonable prices. The water recommended the fried chicken, I enjoyed my dinner. There was a tenor sax player preforming when I went last saturday. If you are in Nyack I would eat here.

The catering service was outstanding. The food was delicious and everyone was raving about, the chicken, yams ,collard greens , mac and cheese and the outstanding sweet potato muffins. Thank you again for making our day fantastic.

Ordered 2 days in a row because the food was AHHHMAZING! My co-workers and I really enjoyed our food and is a DEFINITE keeper. Fried chicken cooked to perfection, well seasoned throughout, greens, grits with Gouda cheese FIRE!

Ordered from from here with my coworkers and what a pleasant surprise. I'm only angry at myself for taking so long to partake in such good food. Fried chicken seasoned to perfection and the same can go for my sides. Thank you chef and all involved with the love that goes into this food.

Great food, great staff! You're in for a treat. Perfect spot for a casual evening out or a midday brunch with the entire family. They even have live music on the weekend.
