Me and my girlfriend came here on a Sunday night after a friend recommended this place to us and said it was pretty good. We saw all the good reviews and figured that we would try it out. We walked in they weren't too busy but there were some people in there. Here's where it gets good. We stand there for 10 minutes before we even get greeted. Then we finally get greeted and are told to go sit at this table in the corner after watching other customers getting walked to their tables. We finally sit down and there are grits on the uncleaned table. after waiting another 15 minutes our waitress finally shows up and gives us our menus and water that we never received, mention the table that was sat down after us was already eating their appetizers and we haven't even got our menus or water yet. This is where we should have walked out. We finally end up getting our food after waiting exactly 33 minutes which i am not going to lie was good but their excuse was everything is made to order. There is NO way it takes over 30 minutes to make some fried chicken. After we are done we ask to speak to the manager and they offer us 10 percent off. I mean thanks but seriously 10 percent???? We were sitting in there for an hour and like 30 mins just waiting for stuff. All I'm saying is if you eat here you may be forgotten about and the service is horrible. If you want good soul food and great service just go to sage in west Nyack.

Amazing food! The biscuits and muffins are incredible. We also had the whiting and hush puppies. Absolutely best fried fish I’ve ever had! We got the braised beef rib, which was huge and delicious. I ordered the fried chicken and it was also incredible. Huge portions! Easily sharable! We also really enjoyed the live music.

This is my second time here I wrote a yelp review and had to make another review on google about how well the atmosphere is and also the welcoming staff. The young gentleman who greeted us was very outgoing and made the experience feel warm right away. The food was delicious and we had a great time as always.

Amazing food and service! The fried chicken and six cheese mac & cheese were so amazing! The waffles were delicious too, and the sweet potato muffins were amazing!! I loved the vibe in the restaurant as well! They had a live saxophone musician and he was amazing! Highly recommend this place to others! 😋😋🤤

OMG, I was working the famous street fair 5/17/26 and had restaurant in my want to go and it was in walking distance. I went there to eat afterwards and what a pleasant surprise. I ordered fried chicken breast and wings with collard greens, potato salad with a side of six cheese mac and cheese. Started off with the sweet potato muffin and I was already dancing in my seat, that is one of the best I have eaten. Now its meal time and my food was hot fresh out of the pot. My eyes are always bigger than my stomach now. A long time ago, I probably would have put it all down. I started off with chicken breast, nicely seasoned, potato salad you can taste fresh ingredients, greens and mac cheese very cheesy. I ordered a slice of banana pudding cake to go and that was breakfast the next day, lol. I enjoyed my food 😋 and will definitely go back even with the scale going up it's worth it.

My daughter suggested we take her to the restaurant & this was the best choice we made. It was the 4 us. Live musician! The owners came out separately greeting us & congratulating my daughter on her graduation. Food was excellent, exquisite & delicious. We had the short ribs, fried chicken, waffles, sweet potato, macaroni and cheese & every single items was delicious. Price was very affordable as well. We plan to go back each time we go back to the area because services & food are worth it.

I finally made it to My Father's House after my sister recommended it for her graduation brunch, and I completely understand the hype now. From the moment we walked in on a Sunday and heard the live music playing, the atmosphere just felt warm, familiar, and home like. The performer was incredibly talented and honestly added so much to th experience.

What really stood out to me though was the chef/owner personally coming over to our table to make sure my family was comfortable and enjoying everything. It’s genuinely refreshing to see someone take so much pride in their work and hospitality.

I ordered the fried chicken meal with collard greens and potato salad plus a side of mac & cheese. Everything was delicious. The mac & cheese shells were so good and creamy, and the fried chicken was EXTRA crispy exactly how fried chicken should be. I definitely was not disappointed. My drink packed a punch flavor wise and was a little sweet for me personally, but being able to dilute it helped.

The only downside is that I live far, so making the trip from Manhattan/the city out to Rockland County is definitely a stretch. But honestly? If I’m ever heading that way again, I would absolutely make the stop. Such a comforting and memorable brunch experience.

Stopped by for the first time and ended up really liking this spot, The male waiter was great and made the experience better. Also the chicken waffle was surprisingly really good definitely one of my favorite things I tried here

Everything was incredible I came during the festival for my first visit, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by our server Jayden who provided amazing service and made us feel genuinely welcomed. The mac and cheese was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The atmosphere, service, and overall experience were all top tier. Truly a five star experience from start to finish. Highly recommend this spot!

This was our 2nd visit, this time with family, but unfortunately, it wasn't a good experience. The waitress struggled with English, making communication difficult. My kid ordered a kid's veg chicken and chocolate waffle; after a long wait, he received a large regular waffle instead. The portion looked large for a kids' meal, but we assumed that was normal. The veg chicken was salty, dry, and inedible (we should've known better). The rest of the food was either too salty or too sweet. When the bill arrived, we were charged for an adult version of the chicken and waffle. When we complained, they refused to adjust because my kid had already taken a bite (it was over 2x the price). We could have overlooked the saltiness, but the experience left a bitter taste. Also, there was no music on a Saturday night. We won't be returning.

The atmosphere was amazing with a live saxophonist. Our server, Jael, was very attentive and helpful. I loved the food also. I had the smothered pork chops and my friend ordered the fried chicken. The chef came out to greet us. I enjoyed my experience and I highly recommend My Fathers House! I can't wait to go back.
