Applebee's Grill + Bar offers friendly and accommodating service with efficient bartenders. The menu features a 2-for-$32 Mac & Cheese dish, which some customers have noted contains penne instead of macaroni and a less flavorful four cheese sauce than expected. The chicken tenders and artichoke dip receive positive reviews. Many visitors find the restaurant suitable for families, especially with its kid-friendly environment and sports-bar atmosphere. It is located near Montreal and is a popular lunch spot for travelers heading to Plattsburgh, offering ample outdoor parking and wheelchair accessibility. However, recent experiences highlight some issues with wait times and staffing, as the restaurant was often not busy but still had long waits or limited service, especially during lunch hours. Customers also mentioned that sitting at the bar is sometimes the only option when tables are unavailable, which can be uncomfortable with young children. Despite these challenges, the food remains decent, and the lively atmosphere makes it a convenient spot for casual dining.
