The Don Juan Mexican Restaurant

We came here to celebrate my mom’s birthday and we had a great time. The service was very good and our waiter was very attentive. The menu has a wide variety of different foods and there is lots to choose from. I asked for a mojito and I was not disappointed. It was very good and not too strong. The desserts were very good and the churros were fresh. The guacamole was freshly made in front of us and was delicious. This restaurant is a little bit on the higher end but you get what you pay for. Parking is difficult, as they don’t have their own lot. But there is street parking further down on the street.

First of all, My boyfriend and I expected a friendly waitress not a rude woman serve the food. She made me feel very uncomfortable with her attitude to trying to ignore me. When you are working in a restaurant as a waitress you greet your customer. You make them feel welcome! 😁 not put on rotten face!
We were charged liquor tax though we had no alcohol. The food was ok but it's overpriced.. I am getting sick and tired Mexican restaurants overcharging for their frijoles.

Amazing family owned Restaurant. The food is authentic and very fresh. Will definitely be back!

Visited for lunch on a Saturday at noon and immediately saw lunch specials pop up on their ipad menu. However, the check revealed entrees were $5–6 more than the advertised price. The waiter admitted the specials only apply on weekdays and called it a “promotion,” openly acknowledging the deceptive tactic. Will not be returning after this experience and your “tactic” costed you 4 customers.

Excellent food with wonderful service. Cozy atmosphere. Extensive menu allows for more authentic Mexican food, on the Tex-Mex side (burritos, quesadillas etc) and even has a kids menu. Margaritas are great!!

This review started out as a 4.5 stars from walking through the door then as we left went to a 3.4 star rating. For Cinco de Mayo holiday afternoon, seemed at a normal capacity because there was no wait time to be seated which was a total plus for us to get a drink and snacks.The food was fresh, packed with flavor and a solid portion. We ordered the ceviche and chicken nachos as appetizers, they were a way bit overpriced (I understand it’s NY prices but damn for apps). We also got a margarita and couple of beers but the sad thing is there was supposed to be a second margarita that we never got. It took quite a while to get our servers attention and we understand it’s a holiday with the possibility of shorthanded servers. We had two servers in the back dining area and about 4 runners that could’ve gotten our items while she was busy. That was the main reason for the decrease in rating, LOUD music where I had to scream to talk and charging us for the missing marg.Overall, we will come back because the food was fantastic and in hopes the service will be better.

Really good authentic food. Portions and prices are very fair. The tequila bar has high quality brands and the bartender knows his tequila. It is also a clean place with nice Mexican aesthetics.

I really liked this place, I read the comments a few years ago and although it doesn't have good comments regarding the food or the service, my opinion is totally different.The food was very good. I highly recommend the corn with cheese and mayonnaise, the shrimp ceviche, and guacamole, which I love that they prepare it there while you can see it, the sauces are delicious.We tried different appetizers, no main course but absolutely everything was very good.As for drinks, I highly recommend the excellent michelada!!!The service was very good, the staff was very attentive to what we needed and everyone was very friendly, I was very satisfied with the service.
