Makondo Restaurant offers delicious Colombian comfort food with big portions at a good price. The food is great, and the restaurant has a lot of variety, including the authentic whole fried fish, known as chillo frito, which satisfies many cravings. The Suprema de Pollo is a must-try, along with the Bandeja Paisa and red sangria. The tasty salchipapas and beef empanadas are popular, although the salchipapas is now only for children. The bakery items, such as buñuelos and pan de bono, have received praise for their excellent quality, though some found the empanadas made with a different flour. The hot chocolate, made from chocolate bars, and the amazing coffee also stand out. The staff is friendly and helpful, with excellent service. While there may be an additional charge for credit card use, the portions are generous, and the food is considered some of the best Colombian/Latin food many have experienced. The restaurant is usually not crowded, but parking can be tricky due to many shops and restaurants nearby. It is also wheelchair accessible.
