I’ve been to Old Fields dozens of times, everytime it’s great. The bartender Nick always makes the drinks quickly and exactly how I like them. Have a gluten allergy and they always accommodate it seamlessly. One of my favorite restaurants and always good when Nick is working.

Came here on a summer Saturday night for dinner with a party of 4, no reservations, but surprisingly had no issue of getting a table right as we came in. We had a table near the bar and the ambiance is very pretty, but can be a little dark. Noise level was perfect, could easily talk to everyone without feeling like I was hard of hearing. Service was kind and helpful, but it certainly felt slow. I would have ordered more drinks if they just had come around and checked in on us a touch more frequently! Although it did seem like they might have been down some staff that night, so I don't fully ding them for that. The most convenient parking is the paid lot right in front, but there is some street parking further away if you're willing to walk a little.

The real reason you're here though is the food and drinks! Starting with cocktails, I tried their mezcal version of an espresso martini, 43 Espressions, it's a little bolder than your typical espresso martini, but that's what I also like about it more. Also tried the Lavender Fields, which is a delightfully fresh summer/spring cocktail that is very easily sippable. For a quick appetizer I tried the French onion soup, as classic as it ever has been. When you have found perfection, there is no need to try and reinvent it, and luckily they don't! On to the mains. I had Dave's Roasted Chicken. Perfectly cooked and the sides of paella rice and asparagus make an excellent pairing, serving size is the right amount to fill you up. Also tried their tagliatelle with red pepper romesco and skirt steak, which was fresh and not an overwhelming pasta portion like I'm typically used to from any Italian place.

Even in spite of the less than stellar service time, I'd love to comeback here and try out more of the menu, especially some of their steak options and get a chance to try out the dessert menu too!

Dinner for three. Everyone raved about all dishes from appetizers to desserts and side orders. I advance-ordered a larger cut of rib steak. I was asked how I would like it prepared and it was cooked to perfection. Staff was exceptionally accommodating on the phone and extraordinarily pleasant and attentive throughout the meal. The ambience was also superb. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Good place to bring the family. There was food for everybody. Some food was under seasoned but everything was good. From our order 2 items where missed, we never received them but it was ok because they did not charge them either.

They have the same monotonous menu all the time and one night I got the special which was extremely expensive and a very disappointing steak. Nine dollar french fries? For real??? Best part of their menu was the Belgium beer Guden Drak! Exceptional beer! Overrated and underperformed! Not going back there ever again!

We hosted 25 people for a rehearsal dinner on a Friday night in June. Alison could not have been more helpful with the advanced planning, being sure there was a vegan option and with a changing headcount! She offered options of a private dining room or sitting in the bar area which would be open to the public after 5pm. We chose that option and are so glad we did. It created a fun festive atmoshere. On the night of the event, Nick and bar crew and Kathy had us set up and ready to go including sparkling cider for some of the guests as an alternative to champagne. The food was delicious and the hospitality top notch. I will definitely be back next time I am in Port Jefferson!

Just picked up take out. The bartenders Nick and JD were awesome. While waiting for my food I meet a nice couple who came in from CT, Diane and Norman. The food was spot on. I got filet mignon with creamed spinach. Cooked to perfection. This is Cheers on Long Island. Family friendly. Staff takes the time to know your name. Food and drinks are well worth the price. Make this your next outing to Old Field you won’t be disappointed.

definitely over priced for the quality of the food . I got a burger cooked medium with fries and onion rings. Burger was well done and poor seasoning the fries were stale and cheap looked like fries they give you In grade school. I gave this place a shot and that’s all it will get from me. Over 100$ for two burgers and a kids chicken bites
