I’m very upset with the recent changes at Schmear. I have been coming here for years and their scones and muffins were my favorite. The employees were also always super friendly.
I came in today and saw the “new management” banner outside and walked into a whole new staff and different pastries. I asked for a chocolate chip scone and when I got home, I realized I was given a blueberry one. Since I don’t like blueberry things I gave it to my brother and he found a chunk of butter inside as pictured. It is upsetting to see people taking things over and trying to “fix” them when nothing in fact is broken. Will no longer be coming to my favorite bakery and that is a shame.

I am updating my review because I think the new management is listening to customer feedback, and if they are willing to listen and makes changes based on the feedback they have solicited, then that deserves consideration.
Previously, I stated that new management has sacrificed the quality of the baked goods offerings. Several weeks later, I went back in and see that they have made a conscious effort to bring back some of the original baked goods that made Schmear a great local alternative to the corporate coffee alternatives.

They welcomed me with a friendly greeting and we chatted up a bit. As we talked it seemed that we had some similar interests and were talking for about a good 5-10 minutes. I went to go get something for breakfast but they gave me a small latte as complementary! Will most definitely come back again

I stopped in this morning and was pleasantly surprised to see the shop has new management. The service was also noticeably faster and friendlier than my previous visits. It’s so great to see this place getting some love. I tried the Jaz's special and it was perfect. I’m so happy to have a reliable bagel spot again. Highly recommend giving the 'new' shop a try :)

I love walking around and browsing the shops on Main Street, and Schmear Bagel & Café is truly a hidden gem. Their bagels are delicious, and the service is excellent. The staff is always nice and friendly, making it a great place to grab a bite while shopping in the area. Highly recommended

Had been here several times in the past year. Went today and had the worst experience. Order was a chocolate protein powder smooth, a berry smoothie, and a toasted croissant tuna sandwich. Took about 30 minutes for it to be ready when there were exactly 6 people in there and most had gotten their food already. After waiting 30 minutes, the chocolate smoothie that I paid extra for chocolate, ended up being a vanilla smoothie, the tuna sandwich which was supposed to have a side of pickles, did not have the pickles. Extremely disappointed at the level of incompetence. In the 30 minutes we waited , they had gotten 3 other people’s order wrong.
