I am updating my review because I think the new management is listening to customer feedback, and if they are willing to listen and makes changes based on the feedback they have solicited, then that deserves consideration.

Previously, I stated that new management has sacrificed the quality of the baked goods offerings. Several weeks later, I went back in and see that they have made a conscious effort to bring back some of the original baked goods that made Schmear...

I don’t really write reviews often unless the service or food was either really good or really bad, but for this place the service was really good!

They welcomed me with a friendly greeting and we chatted up a bit. As we talked it seemed that we had some similar interests and were talking for about a good 5-10 minutes.
I went to go get something for breakfast but they gave me a small latte as complementary!
Will most definitely come back...

I stopped in this morning and was pleasantly surprised to see the shop has new management.
The service was also noticeably faster and friendlier than my previous visits. It’s so great to see this place getting some love. I tried the Jaz's special and it was perfect. I’m so happy to have a reliable bagel spot again. Highly recommend giving the 'new' shop a try :)
